i dont have any of those games but you might want to check the back to see how much hard drive space each game takes. If i were you I would check everything that could take up hard drive space and if you cant find anything that adds up to 15 gigs or w.e then i would call sony to see what they know.

you know what i forgot to tell you. I think that the reason you are struggling for space is because the system itself has to have information for the ps3 to run. I worded that badly but for example it takes space for your backgrounds, settings, os etc.

exactly. plus with game installs, space gets taken up pretty fast. that's why many people get new hdd's.

Space on your original PS3 HDD fills up fast with game installs which are usually 5GB each, I know MGS4 and Oblivion are but I don't know about R6V. Especially since it's a 40GB HDD it'll fill up quicker than a beer mug. The PS3, as well as any device such as computers that use HDDs or any kind of memory device will use some memory for system information and whatnot. This is normal so don't worry, your PS3 is safe. Just buy a nice and big laptop 2.5" HDD, I think there's around 500GB right now out on the market. That'll keep you going until the next generation of HDDs come out. Solid State Drives are just around the corner.

I have a 20 gig but I found someone that will buy it. I'm planning to get a rare 60 gig (I know a friend that doesn't really play his PS3 and willing to sell it to me) or I'll buy an 80 gig if it's bundled with a DS3 or even maybe just wait till the holidays and see if there's any new PS3 bundles, most likely.

But yeah, I think that's normal with all those installs and such. I rarely download trailers and demos over the PSN if I can play the demo over Xbox Live and see the videos over the internet. Plus I buy more blu ray dvds than PS3 games. I've bought Uncharted and Ratchet, and I traded those in for MGS4.
