how big???

Sony Bravia, then maybe a Samsung, Phillips, LG, etc. (after Sony is in no particular order, check for yourself bravias are great tv's I'm not just saying that cause of Sony)

ALSO join date counts i think. (How long you've been here)

The best possible PQ in your range is going to be a Sony HDCRT set, nothing can even come close in any way in terms of performance.

I use a samsung 32" LCD. Its really good, and it has a game mode specifically for video games. I would recommend you purchase a tv off of amazon and save a few hundred $, plus you can see reader reviews.

Check Best Buy for deals, they're normally overstocked on several items and you can find some decent TVs at decent prices. I personally would avoid Westing House like the plague; they're pretty much crap. I mean you do have to pay much less for one but the picture quality is crap. No HDMI connections? HDMI offers the best qaulity especially at 1080P. If you can find a nice Samsung LED you're golden.

This. If you wait till tax time, I'd be leary of some of the deals. I bought a 42' Sanyo LCD 720p hdtv for $999.99. About 2-3 months later it was down to $800. Then about another month or so, it was down to $600, then eventually $350. That was about 4 years ago. Now a 50' LCD 1080p hdtv costs about $800-$1200. Like joker said, Black Friday or if you have the patience wait till AFTER tax time, around July-August.

anyone who doesn't recommend sharp aquos or samsung TVs simply doesn't know what a really good tv is supposed to look like.
