no they don't...that's like saying Madden sells consoles in N.A.  Sports games are sold for every console.  So to say that a soccer game would sell loads of consoles is completely insane.

Football/Soccer is the most played sport in the world, and the Winning Eleven/ProEvolution franchise is extremely well done and has been getting better with time, I hope they make a soccer game from the ground up to the PS3, so it will take fully advange of what the PS3 has to give.

EDIT : They also need to get more licenses..

In Europe they do.:] well not in the states because their is HandBall(football) and basketball and baseball but in europe the main sport is football and over here in mexico it is too or baseball but in the states you dont see game bundles with a football game over here you do and in europe i think their might be one

I can believe that Football games can sell console in Europe. I live in Asia and many people I know bought the PS2 just to play Winning Eleven. It's very huge in my country.

I rather have Winning Eleven release next year then to have it release this year with an old rehash game mechanic from PS1 which they never change with little improvement. W11 was perfect back then but now it just feel robotic and outdated. I'm getting kind of sick of Winning Eleven. I hope Konami would start creating a new W11 with better physics and more advance game mechanic.

what do you mean it's just soccer though? No actually it's just baseball or basketball or "touch me in my tights" game. Every other sport is way behind in popularity, fun or however you wanna measure it.

but on the topic it couldn't come soon enough. Im anticipating one more than most AAA titles coming to the PS3. Especially with the way Man U is playing and the new direction the MLS is taking to compete with all the other leagues in europe.

The only place where people care is Europe and Asia, and people there are so casual n00bish they will eat up the PS3 are they are doing with the Wii despite the lack of any good games.Oemenia

as per usual for Pro Evolution Soccer and the FIFA series, they will both be released in October/November. The PS3 is supposed to be the lead development platform for PES, and hopefully it will look like that Baseball Spirits game.

 Hopefully Konami will actually bother to make PES good this year on next generation, it was strange because PES6 on PS2 was much better than the FIFA PS2 version, but FIFA was much better on the 360.

 it's really strange you should make this thread, because I've been thinking exactly the same thing for a few days now, what with is getting to summer, it's about time that football, or soccer takes up a weekly part of my activities again, you cannot beat a good game of football thats for sure.

And don't compare Football with American Football, there's no way you can compare the popularity of those two.:lol:

Play a lot of PES on the 360(live works really well) but the xbox360 controller just isn't as good for this game as the ps controller. Don't have a ps3 but if the online can compete with xbox's online I might buy the console just for this game. iatethepies

Winning Eleven is design for the D-pad, and the D-pad on 360 is not as good as the PS. This show how outdated W11 is. I really hope for a next gen W11. I also hope FIFA fix the AI problem and bugs 

When i was at University, a mate was well into his games. Every July he'd downloand Winning 11 from Japan, burn it to disc and be playing the new pro evo MONTHS before everyone else.  So with PS3 games being region free - can we expect thousands of people ebaying the new winning 11 as early as this July?!

My gut feeling is that Konami are working really hard at the new version - so hard that the *** release might get pushed back. Who knows, could even be a global launch. Will have to wait and see i guess....

FYI, I don't even live in the USofA...and just because soccer is the most played game in the world, doesn't mean everyone's going to buy a soccer game.  FYI, Europe isn't the whole world either...last time I checked.  Not to mention that not EVERY soccer fan owns a gaming console.  I bet the sales for these soccer games are less than Madden games.

 I agree, PES is designed for the d-pad, and the d-pad on the 360 is terrible. Also the 360 version of PES is terrible. I know i'll get accused of bashing here but i really am not. I like the 360, and had i not been sooo disappointed with PES i may have bought one. As it is i own a PS3 and the fact that there is no PES on PS3 is the only reason my PS2 is not in the attic!

 It IS a console seller, if you live in the USA, don't assume everywhere else is the same, Football "Soccer" is the biggest sport in the world, you can't even compare it to your Madden. I myself know many and I mean MANY, only play PES on their consoles and that's the reason why they bought 'em for.
