Don't flame me to use the search function because i have gone through multiple threads and i have yet to figure out this problem.

My PS3 doesnt want to see that there is an HDMI cable plugged in. I have tryed switching via display settings to HDMI but everytime it switches it does connect with the TV. I am on the right HDMI Channel but it just tells me "No Signal" and after the 30 seconds it returns back to the AV connection.

Please help me... last thing i want to do is send my machine to sony..

Go to the input that your HDMI is hooked up to. Turn on your PS3 but leave your finger on the touch power "button" (the one on the right) until it beeps a couple times. Then a menu will come up on the TV and follow the prompts and you are good! :D Let me know if it worked! :D

Hold down the power button when the system is off. Then it will allow you to configure your HDMI cable.

while the A/V cables are in go to display settings and switch to HDMI, you will have 30 seconds to change the cables and get on the correct input to confirm the changes.

Make sure your TV is set to use the correct input source (your TV remote should have an input or source button). There may be more than one HDMI input to choose from in the TV input source menu. If there is more than one, then each input on the back of the TV should be labeled with a number (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.) so that you know which one to choose from the TV input source menu.

You do not need to have any other AV cable connected, connect only the HDMI cable to avoid confusion.

Turn on the PS3 with the power button held down until it beeps an second time, and the TV should go into 480i mode to show the first video confirmation screen. Choose "Yes" to auto detect the video modes supported by your TV. It will switch to the highest supported video mode and ask you to confirm it.

Really when the power button trick is used correctly it doesn't matter which cables are plugged in. I played around with this a few times and found that when holding the power sensor until the second beep (just gotta time the release to almost as soon as the second beep beeps). The main thing is just make sure the correct input is selected on the TV.

I have seen this before. Check your controller after a minute or so does it lose sync with the system? I have 3 PS3's right now that I am beating my head against the wall over because they will work under the default setting of RGB with a composite input but will not switch from A/V to HDMI or Composite to HDMI or A/V. Also, after a certain period of time it loses sync with the system on any USB. I am at a loss, I am not sure if it is a memory chip or a microprocessor or what. However, I do believe it is a motherboard issue. Let me know Thanks, Ced

Is it anew ps3 that was made very recently?? i ask because i remember reading a story on another forum of a guy with the same problem with his ps3, upon phoning sony they told him that to cut costs they had taken out a certain piece of hardware that allows the ps3 to complete the handshake between it and the tv. This doesn't affect all tv's apparently but a high number of them nonetheless, sony tv's are unaffected apparently because they have hardware inside them that completes the hand shake rather than the ps3 doin it.

You may want to google this and find out more details for urself, i did say this could potentially become a massive problem for sony and the ps3 but everyone on here said i was ridiculous:roll:
