Pretty much, you can play it as long as you want since Sony actually put TIME and MONEY into developing a console thats actually built to withstand common usage, unlike that other console... Many people leave their PS3's on constantly to participate in the Folding@Home program. And, if in the of chance your PS3 does begin to over heat, it should shut itself off. Its not flawless, but Its also not something to worry about either. raven_squad
Whoa, link please, I have never heard of this.........

:? Cant provide a link, but Ive had 2 friends have it happen to them. The system flashed alternating green and red, and then shutdown. They both called Sony, who then told both of them that it does that in the event of the internal temperature surpassing a certain point.[QUOTE="samuraiguns"][QUOTE="raven_squad"]Pretty much, you can play it as long as you want since Sony actually put TIME and MONEY into developing a console thats actually built to withstand common usage, unlike that other console... I advise the following;
1- keep your PS3 in a higher place to prevent something from dropping, spilling etc. on it.
2- put it somewhere well ventilated where the machine can breath
3- Every now and then clean the air vents with a handheld vacuum cleaner to prevent the dust to get in the vents.
4- Do not turn it off from the back without quitting the game, movie etc. and putting your system on standby. You can always use the PS button on the sixaxis to turn it off.
Should you follow these you shouldn't encounter any problems. Except "Acts of God" which doesn't include your dog pissing on the PS3 (believe me I've witnessed that happening that's why you should keep it in a higher place. The machine is sexy so it will attract any living being :) )
