Ps3 owners, do yourselves a favor...(game advice)

I have been reading reviews and things on the Orange Box for the ps3 for a long time now, many say that it is the graphically inferior version of the game, which may be true but I have a crappy pc and can only play the first 5mins of hl2 so the fact that its on the ps3 is awesome. The game is fully playable and has great graphics, I would say EA did a great job on the port, if anyone is having second thoughts about the game please do yourselves a favor, the game is a great one(or 5), and its a gem for 60$jaygun007

im more worried about TF2 not being as good as i hope it is... im hooked on RB6 right now, and TF2 looks like headset dead land. orange box sales don't look good for how full the game will be either

NO, your $60 is better spent on a 'newer' game. Orange Box is just a handful of old PC games. Do Not recommend!ThisCurse

Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One are older games yes but Portal, Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode Two were brand new and only featured in The Orange Box. TOB is well worth a buy IMO, five great games for the price of one is well worth the money. And no one should miss out on Portal, that game is amazing.

I like Orange Box, because it has 5 GAMES in it for the price of one..

Also: I like that people actually talk about the Orange Box as if the Orange Box was a game :lol: sounds so funny. "ORANGE BOX IS THE BEST GAME!" .. never heard of that game, but sure :lol:

Unfortunately the PS3 version of Orange Box is the worst one. I have played through all of it's content and Its very hard to recommend it for PS3.

Portal is phenomenal, Team Fortress 2 is great online and Half - Life 2 (only) is OK.

Episode 1 and especially Episode 2 is terrible in terms of frame rates. Unless you're OK with constant staggering and slowdowns, more power to you.

It's unfortunate that after I spent some time with fantastic X360 version which was optimized well, Valve didn't do PS3 a proper job it deserves. It was thrown like a bone to us to rank more money profit.

I love Half-Life but the sad port that PS3 owners received doesn't justify my 60$. I rented it and enjoyed Portal and Team Fortress.

It's a mix bag. :?

Exactly.. But as Kingaerosol said.. Keep buying garbage and they'll keep making it... ;) thus the reason that there are so many madden games. people are naïve enough to think it's different the next year :lol:

They dont hook you up. They hook you. Exactly madden is the same every year (a little worse every year lately) but people still buy it. I always say im not buying it next year, and I end up giving in, and regretting it after a couple months. Only reason I havnt sold 08(and wont sell it) is because im a Titans fan.

Is unfortunate that Gabe, the main Valve / HL guy Just doesnt like the Playstation 3.

But from a technical stnadpoint I guess it does make sense to concentrate their "in house" dev teams on the PC and similar 360..

That said though... Half life 2 and Ep 1 is best on PC the consoles handle everything else brilliantly though and there IS a patch coming out to try and optimise the PS3 port slightly.

Half Life is a killer game though so have faith and buy it. TOB is a fantastic value package that provides hours of entertainment

Do yourself a favor. If you want the orange box, get it on PC. If your PC can't run it, well then that should tell you something... you don't need to be buying games but, instead you need to upgrade your PC.lokestar

That's exactly why I stopped PC gaming. Because I shouldn't be spending money on upgrades every few months, I should be spending that money on the games.
