Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5 and now Lost Planet 2 all requires a mandortary install of over 4 GBs, what gives? these game was clearly built for 360 but it really amazes how games like Uncharted and God Of War 3 requires no installs despite ppl saying how technical impressive they are. Capcom should ask for help or something.or im missing something? http://www.justpushstart.com/2010/05/07/lost-planet-2-ps3-requires-mandatory-install/

I don't really care about installs as long as the game runs smooth. In fact I would almost prefer an option to install to take stress off the blu-ray drive. Even if a game has efficient loading off the disc, it would just be that much better off the HDD. Now if a game has an install and then has all kinds of technical problems on top of it, that would be inexcusable. But if the game runs fine with an install, I'm good. I was pretty happy with Resident Evil 5, and Bionic Commando was surprisingly good (supposedly the PS3 version was also the superior version by far in terms of running 100% smooth with no screen tearing or slowdown). To be honest I don't recall if either game has installs but if they did that's pretty irrelevant to me. Super Street Fighter IV does not list an install on the box (only 18MB), so maybe going forward they will build games without installs. Also, didn't they make a pretty big deal about God of War 3 having no install? There have been plenty of games other than Capcom that have had sizable installs, including many (if not most) of the early Sony published games.

Yeah - im not buying lost planet 2 which i was going to buy since they punished us for the xbox 360. There stupid - coulda just put the stuff that wont fit on a dvd onto the blu ray and people would go for the ps3 version....... why do they always punish the ps3 version if the 360 version is inferior but if the ps3 version is inferor they just pump it out anyways.

Also who cares about game installs - i actually get more annoyed when there isnt one.

Go load up u2 or gow3 and see how long you need to wait for the title screen. If you dont like it go without 1 game and buy a big HDD - i went without a game to buy a 320gb HDD and love it.

I wish sony intoducted a mandatory optional install on all games. I would also love them to give you an option of how big it will be like in PSHOME - it would be awesome if the game asked if you wanted to put like

2gb

5gb

10gb

20gb

50gb - with super fast loads

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition has like a 6gb install. Capcom has failed this generation. The only Capcom game I enjoyed was Resident Evil 5.

It is not the installs that get me(although yeah that is pretty messed up too), it is the quality of their games and how they always seem to have that "Could of been a lot better" feel to them.

what gets me is they is they really trying or just simply porting 360 games to PS3 and calling it a night.

I don't mind installs, tbh. But Capcom hasn't really been all that great. SSFIV is fun, but I'm disappointed Capcom didn't take the time to try to implement some AA. The game is not demanding enough to not get some AA.

Capcom does know what their fan want. With the release of Final Fight: Double Impact, SSF4, and MvC3 on the way, this could be the beginning of a new golden age for capcom.

They're my least favorite BIG developer. Games like Lost Planet 1 & 2 and just about anything too darn Japanese-style turns me off. Didn't like Resident Evil 5 too much either. I liked the old Resident Evil, especially Code Veronica. That's about it from them.. Oh and Street Fighter 2.

Ok, because Capcom has been screwing up the porting lately that makes them bad (and hasn't been that noticeably bad)? lol..far from it. Capcom is, and will always be one of the best developers out there. People take their love for the PS3 a little too far with saying Capcom is the worst developer..that is the craziest statement I've heard ever. I will admit they've lost their touch lately and it's because they're making games more actiony and rushing the development. They need to get re-in-touched with what they were good at in the old Resident Evil and Devil May Cry days and take a litetle more time with the PS3's inards.

They have gone downhill, although I did not approve of them changing the style of Resident Evil when RE4 came out, it was still a brilliant game. But RE5 was a failure in my eyes. And after Resident Evil I really cant think of anything they make that I like.

Not too thrilled with Capcom. Megaman 9 and 10 were great, RE5 sucked, and haven't played the rest of them.

Woa there buddy, thats a big mistake you just mentioned as far as for RE5, it was originally intended to be a PS3 exclusive. If you ever watched the very first teaser trailer, then you know that it was clearly intended for.

Lost Planet seems to be the only game that they screwed up the port to PS3. Remember the first lost planet was also inferior on PS3. I guess they were too lazy to fix it for the sequel. Besides the game has reviewed poorly overall beyond just it's technical issues on PS3, so who really cares about it??? It just sounds like yet another lazy effort. Their other games I don't recall reading any issues,Bionic Commando supposedly ran much better on PS3. Not aware of anything wrong with Resident Evil 5 or Super Street Fighter IV either (both thoroughly solid games IMO). Overall though Capcom puts out alot of mediocrity. But what else is new? Video game companies grow fat on milking franchises that work. They didn't exactly put out oodles of great games on PS2. Throughout their history they have put out a few classics and lots of mediocre games. The problem is in this gen I can't really think of any outstanding ORIGINAL game they have put out (like an Okami or Vieutiful joe). Everything decent seems to be based on their main franchises.

Capcom is doing just fine. Yeah they have installs, good thing we have a HDD with the ps3 huh. You think they are a failure because you don't like the games? Sounds more like opinion than fact. I love Capcom games.

I don't see problems with installing. If anything I make it mandatory I install every Xbox 360 game unless I want to hear jet planes during my gameplay, not to mention the actual hardware scratches the disks if you play for to long but somehow no one mentions that fact.

To blame PS3 for installation process when it actually makes the game load faster and run on more stable frame-rate is beyond my understanding..

Don't have enough HDD space on your PS3? Go and purchase 500GB for 70$ or 320 GB for 40$ and you're set until PS4 is out if it bothers you that much.

I welcome games that offer installation, I wish Killzone 2 had it for example, even thou it really didn't need.

I love installs, I wish every game had an install. I just hate running into a loading screen during gameplay, just look at killzone 2.
