PSN Catastrophic Maintence??

So, the PSN went offline several minutes ago, I went to the blog and they said they could be down for twelve hours or more, and that sucks horribly considering today was my day off at home, and I wanted to play some mod nation with some friends.

Does anybody know what this is all about? Are they adding something dramatic to the network?

Cause Im not going to be so happy if nothing happens at all, haha....I'm tired of .0.0.1 updates that fix bugs that anyone hardly notices...

It's probably preparation for whatever changes are coming at E3. They did this last time when they announced the video store. ryrulez

I can't sign in, therefore I can't play online. Attempted to get into BFBC2, and obviously I can't.

They're updating it for E3.

I wanted to buy Joe Danger but I can't. Pretty stupid idea to do maintenance not long after a Store update.

Yep I agree. Especially right when a good PSN game releases.

IMO I believe that with a ps3 3d update due on 10/6/10 that the maintainence could be prepping us for this. Also as japan is about 8 hrs ahead of us this would make sense as sony japan confirmed 3d for 10/6/10. Also according to people that are still online and musterbuster (playstation forum) they have taken home down for maintainence as well

Yeah I signed in a couple of minutes ago to play some SSFIV online, but I couldn't find any people. Then I read about the maintenance here.

I can't sign in at all. I am hoping the maintenance is for something great that will be announced next week at E3.

They are locking everybody out the only way to get back on is to pay for the premium service....which is gonna be around 200.00 bucks a month!! Seriously....:)

12 hours? wow, that is a really long time for maintenance. I don't even..... I hope we get something good out of this, I wanted to download some PSN titles today. Aw well....

Hope this maintainence involve some live streaming @ Sony's e3 conference. :shock:

That's a little sad as I wanted to check out some of the things released yesterday. I haven't been able to log into PSN at all, oh well.

Man I just got BFBC2 yesterday and I held off on playing online until today 'cause I wanted to finish the campaign mode. This kinda blows.frostybanana

lol dude I also got BFBC2 yesterday and was trying to beat single player and now I can't play either. Oh well Imma do some RDR missions.
