Well this totally sucks.

Awesome, that happens just when I happen to be on my Spring Break =( Bet it's those hackers called Anonymous.
Dang. Whatever happened must have really done some major damage on their servers. Hope they get it fixed soon.

I don't really know what to think. A couple of weeks ago, Anon said they stopped the attacks because it was affecting PSN users negatively. It wouldn't make sense for them to go back on their word, but you can't really trust these people.

I dont trust them anything they say. A secret attack would be worse than announced one. Plus attacking online sites and services is pretty much everything they can do right?
I bet it was them and they just wanted tit o look like Sony's screw up. They already know how much most of us hate them and want to avoid the negative attention, but they just couldn't resist kicking Sony's legs out from underneath them.... all speculation, of course.http://playstationlifes*t*yle.net/2011/04/21/psn-brought-down-by-an-outside-party-but-anonymous-claims-innocence/

The thing is their attack would have worked only if they had alot of people on board to carry it out otherwise Sony would just have to filter the traffic and that would be that. If it's all under the table they wouldn't have enough people to carry it out. The other thing is Anon is not exactly great at keeping secrets there's always someone in the group ready to spill the beans and we likely would have heard something by now.[QUOTE="tommyas"]

Oh no way! This is awful! Talk about bad timing! I was about to have 4 days of non stop gaming and this happen's! Hopefully they can get it sorted sooner then a day or two! My hubby is gonna freak if he doesnt get to play rdr liars dice tonight.

Couldn't have come at a better time for me since I've been swamped with studying for 3 exams this week along with various amounts of homework.
A little article with some info.

Couldn't have really come at a worse time for me. I finish my last exam today of my undergrad career. I was hoping to get some quality gaming time in... oh well I guess?
can you still get trophies without being signed on PSN? NWA90syeah. just sync your trophies once psn is back up.
Hope Johny Dork and the rest of his minions like striped sunlight, they could be seeing it for a long time if they keep this up. Sony is a Japanese company, they have ways of....dealing....with troublemakers. Rather.....permanent ways. One min they are hacking PSN and the next its "WOAH! Where did my freedom go, I know I left here somewhere...."
I'm fairly sure that has nothing to do with it... And RRoD has been essentially solved since the Jasper chip. =/Anon is probably just a bunch of whiner Xbots who have nothing better to do while they wait for the Xcrap console to come back from repairs for the 100th time.

Wow, just got my ps3 weeks ago, had no idea drama like that was happening.
Damn fanboys I tell you hwhat.
Anon are a pack of spoiled nerds still living with their parents who lack the emotional understanding nessecary to realise they're rallying in support of a criminal. Those guys can go to hell now. I used to support them but this is nothing but pig arrogance. They're showing their true colours now.

No a euro blog for Sony said this is being caused by a third party. They didn't say who but it's pretty obvious. I hope they find these guys and lock them up now.

No they said they are "looking into the possibility". Only you took it as meaning that.Anonymous is allowing anyone who submits their CC info back on PSN. Guess its Anon after all? Or just some jerks trying to scam for money? Either way, people, please don't be dumb enough to do that. lol
More of a joke on how some people will believe anything....Anonymous is allowing anyone who submits their CC info back on PSN. Guess its Anon after all? Or just some jerks trying to scam for money? Either way, people, please don't be dumb enough to do that. lol

I'm pretty sure they're joking about that. If Anon was behind this, they would've loudly said so. Besides, they don't usually attack the general public like this. It's not their $+y1e.
I personally think it's just Sony dropping the ball again. They're not exactly good at supporting psn or the ps3 and it's starting to really show.

Even if it's true, anyone who gives their credit card information to anonymous is a complete moron.[QUOTE="MrSelf-Destruct"]

Sony dropping the ball again? When was the last time this happened, exactly? I don't believe Anon is asking for CC info, either, but you can't accurately determine the motives of an unorganized, faceless group of thousands. Half of Anon could say they don't want to mess with the PSN and the consumers while the other half couldn't give a damn and go on attacking it. I'm not saying that's what's happening. I'm just saying no one could really know.Sony dropping the ball again? When was the last time this happened, exactly? MrSelf-Destruct
Agreed. The last time this happened was back in February, I think - and that was for a service update that lasted maybe 16 hours.
