Why do you guys think its so bad??

Most people hate the idea of an all digital handheld, specifically after the older PSPs, because with a big enough memory stick there's no reason why you can't just download games to an older PSP. That and because the only means of putting games on the Go is through the PlayStation store, a lot of consumers believe that Sony can essentially monopolize the Go and make the game prices as high as they want, essentially forcing the consumer to pay that price. Add to that the $250 price tag, and the inability to buy cheap, used UMD games (referring back to the PlayStation store). Finally, some people are just pissed that it's not the PSP 2 and doesn't have a second analog stick. I hope that answers your question. :P
It's not that it sucks, but rather it has a very expensive price tag and no way of playing your UMDs. There is really no point for PSP owners to get a PSP Go. It renders your UMD useless really. Assuming you sell your PSP and games you are going to have to rebuy the digital versions which costs you even more money. I'd imagine if you have a pretty healthy collection of games and choose to rebuy them, we are looking at over 500 dollars from the start for a PSP Go. Again, assuming you sell your current PSP.
No point in getting one if you have a PSP already. If you don't, then I guess the only knock on it is the price tag. I'm sure it's cool and sleek, but not worth it for many people.
The only thing it really offers is a different design and no UMD play. Your older PSP can really do everything it can with downloading games and whatnot, but they can also play your UMDs.
Slide design may be cool, but looks more cramped and has a smaller screen. Better battery time?
Anyways, NO THANKS. I like my PSP-2000 and it can download all the same stuff too without loosing a major feature!
EDIT - Oh yeah! And the rediculous price for this late in the game without ADDING anything really. Internal memory? I have memory sticks already for my PSP-200, and its expandable too...
EDIT 2 - Ok, on its own merit it may be fine. But its now sitting on its own merit, its got better older alternatives already. So, really Sony? Really?

Sorry, didn't realize they were 'huge.'
But, even then, you don't have to, you can download everything the PSP-Go can if you don't want to carry them around, without having to pay a premium for the system, you can spend that extra dough on downloading games instead! Don't want to carry UMD's around, just ignore the slot and download away. At least you have it if you want to take advantage of any of tons of games or movies on UMD that aren't for download yet, and can find them used and in bargin bins too!
- Price Tag
- Smaller Screen
- Cramped design
- No UMD drive
- No UMD trade program
- No battery replacement (blah blah, piracy prevention, blah blah,,,I'd like to be able to NOT have to by a new console when my battery goes south.)
EDIT: And you can never import games. All digital content is region locked.

The biggest problem I have with it is the price tag. I have quite a few digital games already, and I love the idea...but 250 is ridiculous considering the prices of the other PSP models.
I think it would have been a great idea if it were a new console, and every game were digital. The problem is...most of the PSPs great games aren't in a digital form yet...And this far in, alot of people have a huge library of games on UMD.
[QUOTE="YoBrandino"]well you dont have to carry around huge UMD's I never carry UMDs with me. I have plenty of digital games on my PSP. No I couldn't. Most of my games aren't available for download. (See: Import). Also, buying a memory stick? I can get a 16gb stick and a 3000 for the price of a go, hell...less than the price of a Go.
EDIT: Core 3000 - 170, 16gb stick - 70. And this is straight from Amazon, shop around and find them even less.

hmmm, well for all the people on here that think your older PSP can do what my PSP go can, you are a little wrong. older PSP can't use a PS3 controller, the remote play on a PSP Go is different than that of an older PSP. No Bluetooth on the PSP 1000-3000, so if you use Skype, you need a wired Headset. Yes the no UMD sucks, but if you can get past that, it really is a good little handheld console. As for the memory issues, well 16gb is pretty big and no need to switch memory sticks, plus you can still add another 4-8gbs via memory stick Duo microM2. these are just a few things i figured should be mentioned as i have not seen anyone else bring these up. If anyone else knows of any other differences in features of the psp go compared to te PSP 1000-3000 i have not mentioned, please mention them.

Fits in there just fine as well. And even if that IS an issue for some people. Sacrificing as much as you do for that slightly better portability is dumb.
Wait.. People cant get past no UMD's??? Well that seems really stupid. And the PSP Go has a built in headset! And no it is not SLIGHTLY smaller it is much smaller you think 40% is slightly smaller? Umm...How does it fit in my pockets? ...Pants? Also, stop throwing around numbers, get real world examples. I've seen the Go as the size of a wallet. Woopie. The 3000 is the size of a small clutch. Get over it. Both are very easy to cart around. Also, built in headset? There's a mic in the 3000 model of PSP. Problem solved. The use a PS3 controller IS a nice feature, but if you're looking for portability (which seems to be a cornerstone of your argument)...Why are you carrying a PS3 controller around.
[QUOTE="DarkMaster7991"]I was against it but now that I look at game games and see that there is only 3 games I really play and 2 of them are on the PSN, im more pro-go. But my biggest compliants of why I didn't like it was this: 1. No UMD Trade In Program. While there are only 3 games that I really play contantly as far as the PSP goes, I still have a big libary and sometimes I like to revist some of my other games. Now with the Go all of my UMDs are useless unless I carry 2 psps (but that just takes away to whole point of the go). Plus the Jacka.... at Sony decided: Hey! lets make a PSS Go Rewards program and scrap the UMD Conversion program....OH! and alos lets get rid of everything for the US! We already screw them over in the PSN. 2. Price of course. You can argue that oh it comes with 16GB of internal memory and its smaller, blag blah blah. But 2 things. 1. a PS3 is only $300 now and well I mean how does that work. THe technology on the PS3 is far superior than on a PSP Go. 2. If I were to buy a PSP 300 right now and get a 16 Memory Card It would still be less than a Go and it would play UMDs as well plus if it was a Bundle then I get a game with it as well. 3. Life Span. Granted the PSP Go won't have a new predessor right now but whats to stop Sony from making an Upgraded PSP Go in a year or well remember the 3000 is still in buisness, so what if they make a 4000 later on? What if the 4000 is smaller than 3000 and below and it keeps a UMD Drive plus downloads eveyrthing the Go can download.... I mean Sony seems to like making a new PSP Model every year or 2 now. Now eveything I mentioned was what I though before I was more towards the PSP Go. But to be honest, beisdes the little rant thoese are logical reasons not to like the Go. I will proabably wait till the Go et cheaper and then get it, or like I said when the current games I haven now arern't or won't be played.mok27I thought a lot of people would like it. idk i dont think the price is terrible. And if you dont own a PSP yet definatly get a PSP Go. Yeah it defintly good for someone who never owned or doesn't have a PSP and I understand that the Go is merely another option for thoese who like digital download, I like it more now. What I posted though was what I thought before and what others that were or are like me thought. I mean I know for a fact Sony wants its current users or vets to get the Go, but they didn't really show us or give us something to really want to upgrade or get it besides it's size and more protablity. I mean if your in the US and had a PSP before the Go and you had this collection and was fine, Sony should have shown us vets something that would get us to get it. Give the Rewards Program, something to show that they understand our problem with the Go.

What he said. Except for the sleek look, the older PSP's are much better in every way posibble.
Even if you don't own a PSP, don't buy this crap.
[QUOTE="JohnnyWPSP"]explanation please?Cause it sucks!
mok27
I just like UMDs and hate digital downloads.
I hope that all PSP GO owners realized that all the had to was buy a 16gb mem stick. Instead, they went out and bought a new handheld.
What seems like the better deal?
-PSP GO $250
-16GB memory stick duo $70
Essentially all PSP 1000/2000/3000 owners have the best of both world's. We can buy UMD's and download the same amount of gams as any PSP GO user can.
I checked last Friday (the US store) and it clearly said $39.99I checked right now on the psp go its $15.99 get your facts straight.[QUOTE="Bigboss232"]
God of war chains is 15.99 what are you talking about?

I got the PSP 3000 because the screen is larger (I'm not going to be carrying mine in my pocket so I don't care that the GO is smaller). You also cannot replace the PSP GO battery once it dies you'll have to send it to SONY and the PSP GO felt cramped when I held it maybe my hands are just big.
I absolutely love mine. :)

same here, I love mine. Ya sony coulda added another stick but nto a big deal for me. design is sweet feels great 16gb of memory. No complaints here.
