After even just 15 minutes of playing the memory stick heats up, is this normal? And also, when there is a disc in, and a game is loading, it makes some whirring noises.

That doesn't sound normal at all. I've never heard the PSP memory stick heating, but the noises in the UMD drive lead a recent PSP to a dead drive.AlphaEndwell it's not necessarily the memory stick heating up its just the outer shell around that area that gets warm and it makes my hand itchy, and I have a PSP-1000.

It's probably close to dying out on you i think. But im not sure, I never experienced the heat problem you had but I do know that noises coming from the drive and slow UMD load times usually lead to a dying disc drive.

Load times aren't slow, and I saw a video on Youtube where a guy's laser is moving around when the game is loading and its making the same noises mine do, but he didn't say it was a problem in the video title or description so I think it might be normal..still don't know about the heating up though.[QUOTE="flowersjf"][QUOTE="fred1712"] well it's not necessarily the memory stick heating up its just the outer shell around that area that gets warm and it makes my hand itchy, and I have a PSP-1000.
