PSP redesign confirmed !

just read in todays Game Informer Magazine it is true. Here I will quote it word for word:

For the first time UK Sony Executive Ray Maguire has confirmed the widely believed plan to release a redisigned PSP. Maquire characterized the new psp as smaller and lighter, but said the handhel's screen size would remain the same. No word on wether the system would come down in price, although Sony has coincided a price-drop with a redesign in the past.

Well that was in May Magazine of Game Informer, it's true, but I am still happy with mine till I see this next gen one. Ha!

why dont they just continue with the PSP 2  design?

my freind showed me a magazine i think, it was a  psp one anyway and it had a pic of one inside, which i dont have

dual screen, 2 analog sticks, im not sure about the touch screen though, main colour is white instead of black

they are 'working on it' but i wouldnt expect it any time soon 

Humm i just got mine 3 days ago. Maybe the new one will be at U$250, so I dunno if it is worth to return mine.BlueBarad

The original statement is over 2 months old. PSP Updates quotes Sony sources as clarifying this as being something planned for some unspecified point in the future.xaos

Anyways I already have a psp and I enjoy it very much, but true upgrades that were listed above would be nice. But in reality if the new psp will come out it will take numerous years to produce the new system. Although its not a whole brand new thing but shrinking it down will still take at least 2 years to produce. Until then we have to dream...

Honestly it seems like everyone is redesigning something. Look at nintendo with their gb to gbc their gba to gba sp to micro and their ds to dslite. Nintendo has a good marketing campaign with redesigns and hopefully sony is learning from that. I just can't to see what the redesign is going to be...

Well Sony redesigned Playstations 1 and 2 So PSP is next. I get "PSP Slimline" or whatever they end up calling it.
