"The new PSP is 20 percent thinner and 33 percent lighter than the original. Internal system memory has increased from 32MB to 64MB, which helps speed up game load times considerably. The new system also has a new video-output port that can you can use to connect the PSP to a TV if you have the appropriate AV cable."
There are also other differences.
The two aren't much different, and I like having the liberty to mess around with my 1001.
Aesthetically, the Slim is lighter but feels cheaper. The system memory for loading time is kind of moot if you can bump up the processor to hit the 333mhz max (mine does fine at 300mhz). TV out is kind of a hit and a miss, because it locks games in at the resolution they come with and doesn't upscale them, and apparently you need an HDTV with progressive scan to even get it to work.
load time varies by game. I didnt notice a difference in older games only in newer ones that seem to take advantage of the slim's features"The new PSP is 20 percent thinner and 33 percent lighter than the original. Don't forget the USB charging that is only on the Slim.Neoyamaneko
Yea, but why would you ever want to use it. If you have a computer running, then you have an outlet...so why not just use the outlet? The PSP will take 2x longer to charge through USB than an outlet.

if i have my laptop at work, or on a plane/train/bus, i can charge my PSP while working on mylaptop. It's easy when both are running anyways.
go for psp slim, it has a higher memory than the phat one. and it is sexier than the phat one.
and the phat psp is so heavy.
[QUOTE="fantasy159"]thanxs i dont think i can offord it though, to buy the system and game. I might get it though you helped alot.tgh93_29i wouldnt take a slim over a phat like i have now if you paid me. it feels cheaper than a gb pocket
and how exactle does it feel "cheap"? i just got one recently so im new to everything about the PSP but i definitly wouldnt say it feels cheap
the slim looks fragile, feels fragile, the fingerprint thing is negligible, not all games load that much faster, i'd say if u dont have a psp then get the slim, but upgrading to a slim isn't really worth all that muchredeemer12
whilei'd debate the fragileness, i love mine. this is really good advice. if you have a PSP, it's probably not worth buying a new slim. but if you don't, then the slim is the natural choice.
