You should be able to go to the pictures menu on the XMB and grab them right off your thumb drive. Once you've got them on your hard drive you can use one of your pics as your avatar. I've done it on my PS3, so I know it works. jw_burrell
Not that I don't believe you, but I just don't believe you. Please give step by step instuctions on how to load a custom picture as you avatar.

All my research and and knowledge tells me it can't be done.....yet.
you just highlight the memory card under images (on the PS3), and then hit triangle and say view all. I don't think you can get a custom icon. Also, does anyone know if you can make your background an image yet, or does this come out with a firmware update in the future (for PSP it was 2.0)Echo13791what he said
