I'm getting a little worried about my ps3. It's an 80gb model and I haven't had any real problems with it. I've had it for a year now, but one thing I noticed is that it doesn't seem as quiet as it used to be. The fans tend to go pretty fast now and sometimes it feels pretty hot where the air is coming out. I'm worried that it's going to progress and the system is going to break. I also noticed more freezes lately. I'm not sure if it's from certain demos because it doesn't really happen with the games I bought. It should have plenty of room as there's about half a foot on each side and much more room behind it. It doesn't seem really dusty when I look in the vents so I'm not sure if it needs to be cleaned or not.
If it does need to be cleaned, what's the safest approach? On other forums I've read that compressed air is risky and should not be used. I also read that vacuums can damage the inside by causing static or something.
Is it possible that the newer games are just more stressful on the system? I just remember when I first got it how quiet it was. Now it gets fairly loud when I play a game for a couple hours or something. It doesn't seem to run like that when I'm sitting in the xmb so the fans do slow down.
If anyone has any idea what the problem (if there is one) is, I would appreciate some help.
