I just beat the DMC reboot and I must say that I really enjoyed it. Considering I'm a fan of the original franchise and 1 of MANY who where outraged when news, trailers and any information about the reboot was announced back in 2011.

I'm still a huge fan of the original but I must say that the reboot did a great job updating the story and more importantly the gameplay!

Anybody else have a change of heart about the reboot?

I'm enjoying the game. Not bad for a free game from ps plus. I like the wide range of attacks. Also the level design is well done.

I'm glad it's free but after playing it, I wouldn't have had an issue paying full price for it.

The only thing I would say I like better in the reboot is the way that they have his powers and abilities setup. The execution is almost flawless.

While I really enjoyed the reboot I still feel as though the best experience I had with the DmC universe came from DmC 3. So far none of the other games have come close to matching my experience in that game.

I kinda agree, but you can tell that the reboot drew heavily from DMC3's gameplay....which was a good thing.

Is any personal experience objective?

@MarcRecon: I played the originals and I was one of the few fans that was really excited about the reboot. I love the new DMC, it is a refreshing change from the originals but still maintains what made the originals awesome. I couldn't really ask for more.

I thought the reboot was awesome, and one of the most pleasant surprises of last year! It was great fun to play and anyone who didn't enjoy it clearly didn't play through enough of it. How could anybody not enjoy the playing nightclub mission or the Bob Bardas boss fight? The story was much better and more focused than all the other Devil May Cry games too, I liked the new look Dante and the supporting cast was great too, its just a shame that the twist at the end was so obvious to any fan of the series!

I really enjoyed it my first playthrough but always hated having to run around Limbo which is at least 80% of where the gameplay takes place. I wanted to see the world being overrun by demons, not jumping platforms and seeing mini cutscenes of Dante looking up whenever demons would spawn. After I beat it, I tried for a 2nd playthrough and started to dislike the game so I stopped playing so that I wouldn't have a bad opinion on the game later and remember how much fun I had during my 1st playthrough.
