Before anyone starts flaming just read my post. What do you think the ps3's system seller will be. Microsofts system seller is Halo 3 so what is sony's "Halo 3".
I think Killzone. Metal gear is great. But I think its to hardcore (strange) maybe. Halo 3 I think looks like crap so far... and I didnt like the beta gameplay as much as I thought i would. Oh well ...mass effect will rock the world this year anyway.
Why do I keep adding "for some," because MS only has a few select titltes to tout, while the PS3 has a handful of sequels and new franchises. Therefore, they are catering to a wider audience. Just my two cents.

Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII + Spin offs. Halo has delievered in the past just as Final Fantasy and Metal Gear, so there will be returning fans to buy the system just to play it, kind of like the people holding off to buy the Xbox360 until Halo 3 is released. The next Gen Killzone is a newer game from a series that failed to deliever in the past compared to big name AAA titles, so this is more of a Gears of war type title that people won't get into until they see how good the finale product is. MGS4 and FFXIII will sell consoles because it's MGS and FF.
MGS4 will push consoles like crazy, but its not the main stream, easy access behemoth that is Halo 3. Dont get me wrong as MGS4 will be far more impressive and even MGS2 and 3 are probably better than what Halo 3 will be, but quality doesnt always = big #s. FF13 will also dominate on PS3.
Ive never really been a Killzone fan, but I do hope it becomes the game to compete with gaylo on its own turf.Basically another easy access FPS that outdoes Halo on all fronts not just graphics.
I guess it all really comes down to marketing muscle in the end. MS does a great job of shoving Halo down everyones throat and the #s show.
Every gran turismo game released in Europe outsells the newest blockbuster in the movies.. Gran turismo 3 is the most bought video game on the ps2 of all time.. I mean, Gran turismo is a series that does not disappoint.. and was the main reason why so many people bought the PS2.
killzone has not really brought the trophy home in the past we are just hoping the 2nd one will blow our minds i look to mgs4, the next god of war for the ps3, and if socom can get back to its roots from socom 1 and 2i think it can be a real crusher against halo 3 especially if the graphics show up, halos biggest advantage is basicaly the online portion so

MGS sales have been less and less with each installment.The last MGS game sold 3 million world wide so I don't see MGS4 doing any better. The first Killzone was a horrible game so the series has no credibility.
The system seller will probably be Final Fantasy as it has always maintained good sales.
SOCOM has been Playstations horse for a long time... I think that GRAW 2 will be very popular as well though. There is a big opportunity for there to be big splits in the FPS and tactical shooter markets (COD4, UT 3, SOCOM, GRAW 2, etc.).

Seriously I agree with you, Halo 3 looks like garbage. I hear people say "OMG did you see the graphics on Halo 3". Please its just a HD version of Halo 2.

Idk but I heard that if the Halo movie is picked up by a blu ray supporting company, then Halo will be on ps3 and not 360 (movie wise) which would be hilarious.

This is coming from the guy who gave Sonic the Hedghog for the PS3 a 9.0. But I agree Halo 3 won't have the amazing 4D graphics that Killzone will have :roll:
