He seems to mesh with the story because he kinda gives another view other than the super serious snake. He kinda has that cockyness to him. (This is only playing MGS4)
io love him now more than ever after playin mGS4...in MGS2 didnt reli have an opinion of him...just tht he was a weak lead character compared 2 snake....but now he's sick
i think the patriots did a him a favour by turning him cyborg, hell no one could have faced vamp the way he did, he manned up this time around me thinks.
It sucks that almost everyone hated Raiden in mgs2. Raiden is my favorite mgs character but mgs4 Raiden sucked. I hated how they made him a superbadass over the top cyborg ninja. Raiden lost all of the personality that made him the original and realistic character he was in mgs2. Now he's just lifeless cyborg with a Raiden face.

Raiden is actually one of my favorite video game hero's. He didn't need to be the Snake type to get me approval, he had to be original and move the story along. Which if I had to play as a hidden Snake from Raiden in MGS2 I don't think I would have liked or approved that story line. I actually think Raiden will go down in the history of video games as a hero who nobody liked.gordonp832

i always liked raiden despit questionable design. he is a very dark character yet they gave him a very soft and feminine look in mgs2. totally redeems himself in mgs4 though. and at the end he looks like a super android.
Raiden kiced ass in MGS2 and 4. If it wern't for him, Snake would have died like 3984738294 times. Not really, but he did seem to tell him to go on a lot so he can kill the baddies. It would have been cool if Raiden gave you his sword in one part or another and you could use it in your next playthrough.

Ok, in mgs2 he started out as a whining wussy cause you didn't know squat bout him and he just complained a lot, but later, he seemed to redeem himself in the story when you learned he was a child soldier. He was just trying to hide his past by acting like a wussy, he didnt want anyone to know bout his past. In mgs4 I loved every second of him, he fully redeemed himself and more. He was a booty kicking ninja in every respect. In fact, i wish he took some of otacon's crying airtime to have raiden. Btw, those high heels are just part of his cyborg body. It only helps in his combat abilities i guess since he can grab with his feet. When you see him as human, its not actually a real body, but a robotic one put into his spine and head. That's y he is able to get his arms and other stuff back so easily. However, he is still a botty kicking ninja imo cause he has such a cold personality towards what he wants and stuff. I also hated Rose in the beginning of 4 before i found out that she was just lying about being with roy. After 2 i just couldn't believe that she would do that, but after revealing her true intentions, shes still a good character imo.
MGS2 was the first MGS game I ever played so not playing as Snake really wasn't a big deal for me. I liked Raiden in MGS2 and he's even better in MGS4. I'd love to see a spin-off game with the MGS4 Raiden as the main character.
He killed it in MGS4 and in MGS2 as well. You cant blame him for being a Patriot pawn and not understanding that nothing was real to him. Without him, Snake dies. Multiple times, if you will.
I didn't have a problem with Raiden when he first appeared in MGS2, I'm actually not happy with what Kojima did to his personality in MGS4 making him more like Grey Fox.
I never hated Raiden I actually liked playing as him in MGS2, sure he couldn't take the place of Snake but he was a good character plus MGS2 made Snake more cool then ever. Now Raiden is definitely better as the cyborg Ninja.
