Hey I have had my ps3 since christmas and since about a month ago it makes a rapid but quite ticking sound coming from the blueray drive. Its kind of annoying. IS this going to lead to a greater problem . If not how can I make this noice go away?..oh and the light next to the internet light flashes rapidly as well it looks liek a battery ..OK THANKS

well i had a problem like this a few days ago, playing SocomCA, all i did was take the disc out wiped with my shirt (since it was a little dirty) and the noise was gone. but it was the exact same ticking as you had explained

Could be a problem with the HDD. I had an external HDD that started making a clicking sound. After a week or so, the HDD broke and i had to get it repaired.

its because some games dont have an install option so the drive takes more data from the disc

I have the exact same problem, no idea how to solve it, Its like when the game is loading sometimes, for example loading a warhawk map or stuff but its really annoying, at first i thought it was my 120 GB Hard drive but now i see its the blu-ray.

Still i don't see anything wrong or serious happening, lets just wait until ...BOOM

is it that clicking noise when its loading? coz my 60 gig has been like that since I bought it but never had problems with it so I thought the clicking noise is just normal
