[QUOTE="pigsybum"]It's the first time i heard about R&C being hard.
The game consist of two main elements: Shoot them up and Platforming.
I love the game myself, and didnt get stuck, found the platforming fun also, i guess this game just isn't for you.
I played devil may cry and got stuck a couple times, just refer to some walkthroughs and go through ur game, ull do fine.
jeffbase33
I never said the game was hard. I said I am frustrated with the save points. I was tired that night, and turned off the game. I saved it. Little did I know that I would have to repeat 30 freaking minutes of gameplay! They did the same crap on the level where you have to fight through the arena which takes a long time to complete.
Jumping puzzles are just stupid. I shouldnt have to restart just because I jumped a second too late. I guess it adds some tension, but that doesn't equal fun to me.
lol, i was laughing with you coz its funny that you got so frustrated, i can picture the look on your face. we all get frustrated like this at gaming from time to time.
but then you said this:
THis is just unacceptable, and a cheap way for developers to make games appear to last longer. There is absolutely no excuse for forcing gamers to do this. Now I will be afraid to turn off my game since I don't know where it will truly save.jeffbase33
and i started laughing at you. dude come on, its not some kind of lame marketing conspiracy to have games play out like that. its quite simply the genre they fall into. Puzzle/platformer game. what would you prefer, if you fall off the edge for some magic super happy fun fairy to whisk you back up to where you fell, without punishing your silly or unco-ordinated gimpy mistake? wheres the challenge in that? wheres the point in that? where the fun in that? i got pages of these, i could keep goin. ;)
i get what you mean with the whole saving thing, a fell trap to it once and it was kinda annoying, but the game itself is so fun and interesting, its not THAT bad to have to replay it a bit. basically, if you turn the game off, you have to restart the entire level again. i think... pretty sure. so finish the level first.
[QUOTE="Gebrechlichkeit"]LOL! I think you just suck at the game... so blame yourself because the game is very easy (but a lot of fun).jeffbase33
This either has to be a 14 year old saying this, or a drunk. (And yes I grand thee permission to mod me.)
The perspective box escapes Jeffbase33.
Whatever pal. SOme of us actually have lives and can't just sit in front of the tv 6 hours straight. IF the game is around 12 hours and you beat it in 2 days, that means you don't have much responsibility.
Well said bro. You named 2 things and now you hate it?!? That seems pretty harsh... Aaron Thomas? Is that you? :oLet me get this straight.
You purchased a platformer, and don't like the platforming elements? Or am I missing something? If so please enlighten me.

Wait, I can get modded for that? :?Skill ability has nothing to do with this type of game. You miss a jump, you die. Are you saying you NEVER time a jumping sequence wrong? Geez, you people are so arrogant and rude on here.
Someone is actually calling me something that I deserve? "Arrogant". lol. Awesome. Calling me rude? Questionable. Now on to the subject at hand: It's not that I never miss jumps, I have NEVER missed a jump with a game of Ratchet and Clank's nature. Heh. I even get most of my jumps right on Shadows of the Colossus, which is the harder jumping game by the way. ;) In fact, go play that game so you can make an epic topic about how you keep missing the most vital jumps...you'll probably get more compassion because that game actually does make you think about where and when to jump....not so much as Ratchet. Pardon me, but I'm a hardcore gamer and so are many that you've seen on this topic. We're MORE than used to "teh'' hard jumps.Skill ability has nothing to do with this type of game. You miss a jump, you die. Are you saying you NEVER time a jumping sequence wrong? Geez, you people are so arrogant and rude on here.

jeffbase33
Umm the save point sections in the game arn't too bad. besides it should only take you like 30 - 45 mins per planet ... and so what if you mis-timed a jump ... just spend 5 mins to run back to that point and make the jump ...
If you just try you'll find the next time your playing through the game that section will be easy ...

Your perspective box is crap. I've never missed a jump (Hear that? JUMP) in Ratchet and Clank because for hardcore gamers, the game IS watered down for little kids to play and beat. You're basically asking me if I made a mistake in an above-par casual game.
I'm telling you: Play Shadows of the Colossus! That game is the reason why I haven't fallen yet. In fact, play Mario 64 man.
Screw it with the words.
Sky Rail
Final rush.
This game does almost everything Ratchet and Clank does, only quicker and more intense and I can almost easily breeze through them. That is why we're on different sides of the gate. Notice how much quicker the grinding is.
Skill ability has nothing to do with this type of game. You miss a jump, you die.
jeffbase33
Wrong. It has everything to do with this type of game. If you can't gauge distance, or you have bad timing, then of course you'll miss the jump and die.
Confusing isn't it?

I had a very hard time with that level also, especially when you have the guy firing the turret at you while you're surrounded by 20 pirates with shields. The game is getting hard and frustrating for me also.DSPXUse the Shock Ravager on the shield pirates. Until I got the Negotiator, I used the Plasma Beast gun on the turrets. Just shoot one over near the turret and watch the beast take him out lol. Another great alternative is the Nano-Swarmers. Plop one of those down, and it will take out just about anything. Upgraded Nano-Swarmers just about do all the work for you lol. Ratchet and Clank to me wasnt all that much easier than say a Sonic or Mario. None of those were ever hard to me. Its just staying on your game for the whole time and learning the jump techniques and such. Once you master those, there isnt much difficulty to a platformer in general. Just a lot of repitition. The difficulty in Ratchet wasnt in taking out most of the enemies. For most of those, you just picked your poison and ruined their day with it. To me the difficulty was the actual searching out of all the treasure and gold bolts. There were some pretty clever sequences to go through for a lot of those.

I have to protest that opinion on Sonic. Maybe Mario you have a point to a degree, but after playing Sky Rail on hard mode where it's INSTANT death for you missing switching rails on time, it's not going to work too well. Not to mention in Clank, you have like 10 seconds to switch rails before getting "hurt". In Sonic, you have to switch with instinct and instant or face death from falling, going much faster than R&C.
[QUOTE="the_new_neo"]Dude, your stuck in ratchet and clank? I beat that game in two days, and had the ryno on the third.A3trix
I share the same thoughts... lol This was by far one of the easiest PS3 games out yet. Except maybe for Heavenly Sword.

I dont remember much about Sonic since it has been a while. I do remember it being at a much higher speed which increased the difficulty. Sonic I liked a little better than Mario, but they are both classics. Ratchet was just all around enjoyable. I liken it to Portal. Its not the most difficult thing to blow through, but if you take the time to enjoy and play out the game, you find a great experience. To be honest, Ratchet had a large Action/RPG feel to it. Much more than I would expect. The platforming was mostly in finding all the secret stuff. I suppose thats OK, but it opens it up to criticism and confusing reviews.[QUOTE="Symphonycometh"]Use the Shock Ravager on the shield pirates. First you turned this thread into a cheat thumping moronic boast, totally derailing the original topic. Did I ever say the game was freaking hard? NO. I said jumping puzzles are ZERO fun. You call it skill? It's called simple memorization. I am going through the game at a steady pace and I am now at the part where I go to the arena for a 2nd time.
I still HATE the save and afraid to turn off the game. If you beat the game in 2 days, that means you played the game nonstop for 12 hours which means you have ZERO responsiblity in life. Grow up.
Bioshock is a great example of how to design a game as challenging, yet always fun and never frustrating. Ratchet is not.
[QUOTE="jeffbase33"]Jump puzzling - Cmon does anyone really enjoy this crap? One bad jump and you fall to your death and have to start over.

Umm...When I said:
"When he comes back..."
You were supposed to have this awesome comeback....not more narrowminded thinking. -_- And no. I remember not dying from some of the SKILLED actions. And no. Once again you're using a 5 year old's mentality and saying:
"If you can beat it in 2 days, then you MUST've played it for 12 hours during school days as well as sustain his 8 hours of sleep Symphony DOES recieve."
You and your topic have become jokes in my eyes and I hope you can get someone on your side, because it's VERY boring talking to you. It's like talking to a wall of jelly. Doesn't want to learn squat. I mean, there's a better chance of me learning something from you before you learn ANYTHING I'm trying to tell you. For that, your mind is of that of a fanboy's level and I don't argue with anyone I dub so.
The best part about this whole thing was:
I never said I liked Ratchet because I find it too slow and easy...with no frustrations.

R&C was actually pretty easy, but very, very fun. The last boss was pretty easy, I died a few times at first, but he was way easier than some of the final bosses in the earlier games. I can't wait to play it again in challenge mode with all upgrades and weapons, probably gonna be more fun the second time around with higher difficulty and stacked inventory!!
Symphony, I challenge you to a spanking duel!Hububalub2
Dang...that sounds pretty hard.
Though I prefer a duel of swords rather than spankings.:P
r and c has never been frustrating for me, i mean this game is actually one of the games i just play carefree not worrying if i buildup enough power to beat it at the end i just play it enjoy it and then it endsxkal318
I don't need two dozen ppl bashinmg me about how freaking easy this game is. YOur point is made so let it go. My point on the save system is VERY valid.

Yeah, the save system is a little sparse but come on dude, the game is so easy you can go thru a level in 15 damn minutes.
