They're both awesome PS3 games and are always fun, but TOD is a great classic that imbeded itself in many fans' hearts. However I like ACiT more because it's darker and much more mature. You'd think it would be a kitty cuddly game. Dead, dead wrong. It's dark.

If you think that game is dark, no wonder you are scared of God of War ...

This is a tough one I would probably go with ACIT, but TOD was soooooo good when it came out.

ToD was good, but ACIT was a lot better. ToD was a bit on the easy side to be honest. ACIT is about equal to Up Your Arsenal when it comes to the R+C franchise. Hopefully they make a new installment soon because I adore the R+C series.

A Crack in Time. No competition really. Tools of Destruction was one of the most disappointing games this gen for me while I loved ACiT to death. Up Your Arsenal is still the best though.

This.

And all I've played is TOD so far, and while I enjoyed it, it was nothing mind-blowing. Still planning to own and complete the Future trilogy, though.

Ratchet and Clank 3 or UYA as it is called elsewhere is the series best however CiT is much better, Tools of Destruction felt like a step back for me.

For me, in TOD the alpha gun made the whole gun too easy - the gun was given free too! I would of liked to see trophy support added for TOD. However ACiT, I enjoyed the puzzles and spacecraft. ACiT sort-of had all the missing things from TOD.

ACIT wins. The space sections and Clank were a nice break from the usual R & C gameplay. Most importantly it has Dr Nefarious.

They're planning the next one now. I'm helping them for ideas since I'm a mod there. It's going to be even darker than Deadlocked.

They may bring Nefarious back. I don't know. You should register at the Insomniac games site. All the people who directed and created the game are always wanting your ideas. It may come in 2011.

A Crack in Time was not dark one bit. :P Part of the reason I adored the game was that it was very innocent, funny, and lighthearted. In a way, it reminded me of Little Big Planet, one of my all time favorite games.

ACiT because it had so much to do and, at the same time, was super focused. I loved it. I think it is a crime that I haven't played it in so long.

ACiT may be "dark" by R&C standards but by normal game standards it definitely isn't "dark." Anyways, I preferred ToD more, even though I liked them both, however I liked ACiT's focus on more Clank gameplay.

I've only played the first Ratchet and clank game (it came free with my PS2) I really liked it but I never really got into the series as a whole. I'm looking to pick up a crack in time sometime this month (or next) to catch up on games I put on hold just to see if I can get them for less.(ACIT, Heavy Rain and Bayonetta). If I don't like ACIT i'll blame you.

Give them the big hint that fans want the multiplayer back.

UYA and Deadlocked had great multiplayer. Deadlock still ranks as one of my top coop games.

ACiT was better. I loved the time warping levels (past to future) and Clanks levels (which are finally fun).

My only complaint is RYNO5 has no lock on feature (like almost every other weapon and RYNO of the past).

Sure. The thing is that R&C ACiT has an awesoem soundtrack. One of my team members extracted teh soundtrack so you can download it free without any cost at all. If you want here it is: http://en.ratchet-galaxy.com/music-racacit.php

Odd, response.

Still cool though.

The one bad thing about the series is that it had a kitty childish look about it in some areas. But it's not though.

Played the demo of both of them and the first couple hours of ACiT, and the problem I have so far is they are easy. Does this change? I just can't seem to find the enjoyment out of them I would like due to easy and linear gameplay.

I thought A Crack in Time was the best I thought Insomniac did a great job with the levels with Clank those recording puzzles were fun. I didn't find it that dark the story it was funny and entertaining the only dark part about it is towards the end. It was great to hear Charles Martinet the voice of Mario in A Crack in Time as Orvus. I can't wait for another Ratchet & Clank game and this time bring back Talwyn I was disappointed she wasn't in A Crack in Time after she was getting more close to Ratchet in Quest for Booty.

I don't think it's underrated at all, it's one of the most critically acclaimed 3D platformer series available now. As to your comment about it becoming dark, I think that might be rather ridiculous. One of my favorite things about Ratchet and Clank is that it was funny and didn't take itself seriously. Adding cynicism and seriousness to it would just make the awkwardness unbearable.

I haven't played the newest game. I love the series. I don't know why people say they are short games. The main story is a decent length. Then you have the golden bolts and weapons to upgrade. The series is underrated. It is shameful that a crack in time is just now reaching a million copies sold.

I am. ratchet-galaxy is connected with Insomniac. Besides, Billy Parmenter, Ted Price, James Stevenson, all the game developers are on the site and ask everyone what they want.

ACIT is better. I have not finished the game, but what I have played is better than TOD and TOD is still great to this day. I started my first playthrough on medium difficulty and the game does get progressively harder as you go. I have 18 golden bolts, 5 halo plans, 27 Zoni, and I don't know how many weapon modifications.

I actually think that 8.5 is a great score for ACiT. 8.5 literally means "great" on Gamespot and it's a great game. Personally, I'd give it a 9.0 but at the same time I can agree 100% on the 8.5. And I know people will disagree with me on this but I think that Gamespot was spot on by giving ToD a 7.5, it was a major disappointment and didn't even compare to the originals.

You should get to that. :P Totally fantastic and underrated.

R&C ToD is my fav game of all time because it brought out my inner gamer and got me started even though ACiT was better. A game can have a good ratings and be underrated because not everyone is playing it.
