For those of you who have played the game/demo: Are you as annoyed as I am with the clunky controls?! Ugh I hate it! The game looks freaking beautiful and story was very intriguing, but I got so turned off by the controls. I'm not sure if I want to spend my $60.00 now.

Any thoughts?

I really didn't mind the controls.. I was totally fine with the movement in a few minutes.

clunky? no, not really. i just beat the game and i never really had any problem.. there were one or two places where i thought they could have been better but you were supposed to be going slowly in those places anyway.. I never played the demo so idk if it might have been different, imo the controls were very immersive and maybe only 15 minutes out of my 11 hour playthrough where they at all frustrating... as long as you can differentiate between holding, press, and slowly moving controls you should be fine...

The controls do not bother me at all, and I cannot imagine passing on a game because of the controls. Unless, of course, the controls were plain bad and made the game unplayable, which is absolutely not the case with Heavy Rain.

Wow, you already beat it? I hear the story mode takes a good 10-15 hours to complete... or am I wrong? So what did you think of it? You don't have to give away key plot points. In general, do you think it's worth $60? Way too many people say that you have very little "play" time - the game is just one big movie. Disagree?

I dont LOVE the controls, but there is NO way that is going to hold me back from buying possibly one of the best games of the year...

Id take a game with amazing Story/gameplay with BLEH controls, over a Crappy story/gameplay game with amazing controls.

The movement does feel a bit awkward at times but I'm still enjoying the game.

Any freezing problems?

Apparently, it's happening to lots of folks.

Yeah I was actually just complaining about that to some people. The game has froze on me twice already and slowed down another 5-6 times.

I should be getting this game either tomorrow or Thursday. I hope I don't have the issues you all discuss.

*SPOILER ALERT*

I have had no problems with controls, other than a few minor things. Sometimes I'll want to watch what's happening rather than looking for a button to press, which can be sometimes hard. This annoyed me. All combat sequences pretty much did this, even though I thought they were brilliant.

The game hasn't frozen, but I can say that in some sequences, details were slow to load. Take Ethan's facial hair, or the baby's buttons on his nighty for instance. I'll be writing a review on this in the next few days, and so far things are OK... not what I was expecting, but playable, for sure.

Really? I haven't experienced any freezing or slowdown. It runs better than probably any game I've ever played.

I just hopped back on for a couple hours and things ran perfectly smooth. I'm not sure why I had trouble earlier but everything has been fine since then.

Yeah i had gotten the game on Friday already.. beat it on Sunday.. it was about 11 hours.. and did pretty much everythign i could.. definitely gonna do another playthrough though.. I would say that the experience is worth 60 bucks.. and there actually aren't to many movies in the game, since most of the time you're controlling what happens in the movies... :P

The controls are like the old tank controls from Resident Evil. It's not as bad as it was in RE, but it would've been much better if you could just walk around with only the left analog stick.

I still dont understand why we need R2 to walk though. Sometimes they act up but the good outweighs the bad.

Its an adventure game. It's very interactive. Its about making choices that really make you think. There are alot of games that are like this though not quite as cinematic and epic. The whole game I felt like I was IN IT. Like I was really doing something and I was in control of these peoples lives. Some of the scenes in this game are flat out breathtaking and unlike anything I've ever experienced. Its an AMAZING game.

the movement controls remind me of killer 7. it gave a wierd feeling of distance in k7 which was appropriate, but i wonder how fitting that would be in heavy rain. i havent played the game yet to find out though.
