[QUOTE="xaos"]Don't forget that remote start doesn't work over the internet; the PS3 has to be left on and in remote play mode. I assume this is a technical reason, where only the PS3's WAN is active when it is in standby mode, and it is not connected to your home router. In other words, it can only be remote started via its private network, and it's private network can only be accessed locally. Have you tried it with the PS3 on and in remote play mode over the internet? Edit: Also, bear in mind that unless you have an extremely high upload speed, say from FiOS, the response time will be MUCH slower and the image will be significantly degraded.NoWareMan9ok xaos, YES if I have the PS3on, and in remote play mode, I CAN access it thru the Internet. But I thought they fixed this problem in one of the last updates.....? I dont want to have to leave my PS3 on all day in case I need to access it..... IS there any way to get it to remote start over the internet... ????
You don't need to leave the PS3 on all day. In the PS3 remote play settings there should be an option to enable "remote start" through internet. Turning this on means that while your at work you can use the PSP to turn on the PS3 and start remote play as long as your wireless at home is still on

Nope, you can only power on your PS3 over its own "private network". Note here that the instructions require you to leave the PS3 in remote play mode if you want to access it over the internet.I have ALL of the latest downloads. So it isnt that anything is too old. Thanks for trying. Anyone else have any more ideas?your psp and ps3`s system is too old.the psp must be 3.50 or higher.ps3`s system is can`t be old too.

Well, the smart thing that they did this is because if you lose your PSP, say you forget it somewhere and someone steals it and they try to connect to your PS3. It won't let them because the PS3 isn't on in the first place to start up the Remote Play. Although, they should have this feature work because it is easier to access your PS3 from work or whatever, but they should add a password so that others can't get into it before you do it. It makes sense, because you're the only one able to access your own content.
OK! So that did help, and I never saw that, so thanks for the help. I still think they should've used a password feature though, for security reasons.
