So are you guys using infinite ammo to accomplish veteran mode? Honestly.I'm not using it now because don't feel like cheating in such a great game. What about you?

I beat veteren with like 2 infinite ammo guns. And I beat Professional with the infinite rocket launcher.
I played Dead Space on Impossible mode, using only the Plasma Cutter and I'll probably display similar behaviour in RE5 (depending on how mch incentive I feel to replay the game... Got KZ2, Uncharted, Disgaea 3 and about 6 psp games waiting to be finished lol).
so cybernytic your saying that all ppl that ue inf ammo cheat dont deserve your resect!!!!!! well here is a respect aspect for you! my father has parkinson's disease and has completed all resident evil games untill now with onli infinite health cheat because of hi slowness! how ever by the time this game was released his parkinson's had degenerated further and his shakes ha been costing him ammo as he doesnt have the reflexes to use the knife! so an infinite ammo cheat will help him out BIG time! so tell me now that everyone who use the inf ammo cheat dont deserve respect!!!!unicornrenesmae
This is not a good path to go down. I think it's cool that your dad plays games and that you feel passionately enough to defend him, but I learned way back in the wayback that bringing in personal issues is only going to cause more trouble for you. You assume that people will show some humanity and compassion but it's likely you will have at least one person say something rude and hurtful to you and make the situation worse. Plus, to be fair, as much as I hate elitist gamers who think their opinion of how a game is played has any value on how anyone else plays, there's no way anyone could have known about your father's condition when referring to a style of gaming.
I will end with this piece of advice to you and please try and see it for the genuine attempt at help that it is; the internet doesn't need to know anything about your personal life, ever. It will give you no sympathy. It will find a weak spot and it will attack it. What goes on off the computer should stay off the computer, not be displayed in the biggest breeding ground for hate where no one has to face any repercussions for what they say or do. If someone says or does something that inadvertently hurts you, just ignore it. Go offline, play a game, whatever. Bringing your family or anyone you care about into the mix is never a good idea. Soon, you will see that it works both ways. What people say and do on here or anywhere else has no actual recourse to your life or the people in it. They are words on a screen written by someone you don't know who in all likelihood is someone you wouldn't care about in real life anyways. So don't let it bother you here, because ultimately here is nowhere. It doesn't matter.

Well written CDug. Great insight.
Now to get back on topic. I've beaten the game several times without using infinite ammo, and then several times with infinite ammo. It was fun for me either way. As some stated here if you have to earn it, then use it. If its a perk in the game then how is that cheating?
I also HAVE tried beating the game with just the knife. NOT GOOD, NOT GOOD AT ALL. Zombie food all the time. I gave up.I am not up to that caliber of gameplay.
same here but i tried to use my LHawk most the timeI beat veteren with like 2 infinite ammo guns. And I beat Professional with the infinite rocket launcher.

@Fireknight
Thanks, it turned into a bit of a rant there lol.
As far as the game goes though, I feel the same way. If you finish the game and spend the money to upgrade the weapons, haven't you earned your right to use that perk? It's not like a cheat code from the start or anything. I remember the same thing about BioShock with the New Game+ where people got all up in arms when I suggested you still be able to get trophies on New Game+. But I don't see the problem. The fact that you have the extra mode represents that you've put the time in and finished the game. So you want to replay with the things or benefits you've earned by playing it once already and that's supposed to be cheap? I don't get it...
