Its still early in the year. Theres alot of other games coming out that are going to be just as big of blockbusters. I think that if M.A.G actually happens it will probably win.
It will be my favorite game this year unless GoW3 makes it out. Then it will be tough between those two. MAG will be amazing but it won't be out til 2010. There really aren't any games I'm looking forward to this year though, especially compared to the last few years.

How can you dislike RE4? Game was damn awesome... :"( Its definitely worthy of GOTY material in my eyes, but we don't know of every game being released on 2009, and we don't know how they will all play. Some games have great expectations but end up flopping when they come out.
The trailer i watched over and over 10 times i thought it was great, but somethin i didnt like about it, wont know for sure until the game release......
Resi Evil 5 does look amazing but i don't know if it's GOTY material it's to early to tell.sukraj
I agree it doesn't seem GOTY like material, it's still missing something that was in the older PS2/PS1 versions. I'm not that fan of the way they've took the series from being zombie oriented to something more of people possessed. I'll still get RE5, but damn Capcom what a way to smack all the old Resident Evil fans in the face!
I don't think it'll make GOTY. The similarities in gameplay will probably stop it from being as revolutionary as RE4 was. No doubt the game will be awesome though. Hope the story is good.
i hope 1. they evolve the camera/controls to be like mgs4. i hate having to turn like a tank just to turn around and run. 2. redfield will move at a quicker pace than kennedy back in re4. like when moving backwards whilst firing a weapon to evade attacks. 3. make weapon switching a breeze. i hate having to go to the menu screen all the time just to switch to another weapon.
RE5 will be great no doubt about that. But as most have said there will be many great games in 2009. GoW III and Heavy Rain are my contenders for the best game of the year. I am holding my hope really high on Heavy Rain. Even if it doesn't match the hype, I will give this team credit for just trying to create something new.
