I like both very much, but which is better, how can you compare? An RPG shooter set in modern day VS a FPS set in the past, with a futuristic feel to it.
Well,GTA 4 is something i play when i need to think,or chill out. And Resistance 2 is OMG a great shooter.If you plan on playing online,definately this one. And i have finished GTA 4's story 10 times,Because it's gr8 fun.
Neither game is factually "better" than the other. All of this is nothing more than opinion.;)
GTA IV was easily my favorite game of 2008. In my opinion, it lives up to the promises, and completely warrants the love it received.
Resistance 2, however, I felt was a huge letdown. I had so much more fun with Fall of Man than I did with R2. Don't get me wrong, I think R2 is a decent game, it's just that when I think of how much I enjoyed FoM, R2 let me down big time.

gta iv got a 10 resistance 2 got a 9 gta iv is better residence fall of man is not a bad game just not as good as gta iv and gta iv is older so u can buy it for less money than resistance 2

Resistance 2. Somehow, they were able to suck all of the fun out of GTAIV. It was boring and repetitive. I hate to say this, but it reminded me a lot of Assassin's Creed. It was cool for a while, but then it became a chore.

You are aware you could turn off the calling from friends, right? ...really?...i never knew that at all...that just made the game so much better (and i already loved it) xDYeah in the phone itself there was an option to turn that feature off temporarily, in case players wanted a break from keeping up with friends, to mess around or whatever. It warns that turning this feature off may suspend the progress of the story until it is turned back on. I also like that feature as it adds replay value after the story is complete, and it just makes the world feel more real.
RE: FoM was horrific, so RE2 cant be so good.. GTA IV on the other hand is an AMAZING game. gta iv will be fun 10 years from now. its a classic! no gamer can be without GTA IV! san andreas too for that matter..

How can you hate free roam games?!? Free roam is the best type of game there is. In your opinion perhaps. I find that they become boring, stale, and direction-less. Oblivion and Assassins Creed being the two biggest offenders.
resistance 2, gta4 is an overated pile imo, i regret wasting money on it

i agree with this Really. i loved gta 4 havnt played resistance yet. but gta 4 was a really great gamei just couldnt get into gta4. it just didnt feel right somehow.. too much of a chore for me to play it.
Even though I've never played Resistance 2 I'd have to go with Grand Theft Auto IV! it was one of the most anticipated games and lived up to the hype in my opinion. AWESOME game!
GTA IV is immense, it lived up to and surpassed the hype. Its fun for months if you have friends to play online with and people say that it's too realistic and that it's not fun but it isn't that realistic. Its realistic enough to be fun but not too realistic which would stop it being as fun as it is. I think its the best GTA yet followed by Vice city which is then followed by San Andreas.
While I didn't enjoy GTAIV as much as the other GTAs, Its still a superb game, I would say GTAIV if you're more of a singleplayer guy and Resistance 2 if you like online.
One thing I notice is most people who never played previous GTA games(or at least not much) loved GTA4, but the fans of the old games often are disappointed.
GTA IV..... i liked Resistance too but a more free roam game is better imo i like them both but if i had the choice of choosing 1 game it would be GTA IV :)
my only problem with gta 4 were the clunky controls, compared to the previous games which i loved, this seemd like a huge step back. resistance 2, while not the best shooter ever prolly had the most spot on controls for a console fps which is a big plus for me...but it all comes down to opinion
i enjoyed R2 more over GTA IV... but that's me... i also appreciated Vice City than GTA IV... but nif like roaming and do a lot of stuff other than shooting, maybe you'll appreciate GTA IV.
GTA4... resistance 2 is a good game to have for a week or too, then the online gets old, pretty fun single player though. Whereas, GTA4 is almost guaranteed 30 hours of play time AND online is pretty good, plus it has SOOO much replay value its ridiculous. GTA4 get it, play it, own it.
