The single player in resistance is awsome, mainly thanks to the weapons and how you can use them to create combat situations that you dont get in other shooters. Sadly the single player makes all it all the more harder to forgive just how crap resistance is online. The rifles fire at like 6 times the speed, a rifle could kill you in half a second, because the rifle is so effective there's no real point in using any other gun. I dunno, maybe its just me but i was hoping for a slower pace so you could use the weapons as they were meant to be used instead of just 40 players running around in circles just mashing the fire button. Anyone here think the same me?

I kinda recognize what you mean online. It is true that sometimes you get killes in half a second. Still, after some training and with some skills Resistance online is great IMO. It takes away much of my free time lately

Not really sure what you're talking about... at all...

Resistance Online is th ebest online game I've ever played, you probably jsut need to work on moving around more, and the rifle really isnt that strong, its got more power than the bullseye, but I would say the most powerful is definetely the Lark

Resistance online is much like Unreal Tournament - fast and often spastic. Of course you are going to find that the weapons with the quickest rate of fire, the rifle and the bullseye, are going to be the easiest to use and will often appear to be the most effective weapon. Each of the other weapons instead offer strategic advantages in specifc areas and encounters. This is the way a good game balances its weapons.

You can always rely on the Bullseye and the rifle but you're going to find that sometimes other weapons perform the job better given the circumstances.

Actually the diversity of the weapons is just as fun online as it is in single player... you probably just suck is all. It's okay though, a lot of us sucked online at first... I know I did. It took some adjustments to get used to the difference of playing online vs. the single player missions (I beat the sp before I went online)... That's what made it so fun, it's an entirely different experience altogether. The more time you spend with it, the more you'll enjoy it.

Step 1: Pick up LARK

Step 2: Aim at enemy

Step 3: Press the R1 button

Repeat until bored

R6 Vegas is easily the best shooter of its kind (tactical) for online play. Resistance is just as amazing though for the run and gun genre.

i enjoy it but i totally suck at it coz every time i turn round a corner someone aims at me and takes me down in about two seconds. this does make the game a bit frustrating and i am getting kind of tired of seeing my name at the borrom of the stats sheet. i always think that people who are under me must be REALLY bad...

Well why not try team deathmatch or something. Get playing with guys that like playing tactically. I mean Deathmatch would aways be chaotic. I just wish there was more of a map rotation.

Just wait until Warhawk comes out. That has much more balance between people with dead eye aim and those without. Just play smart and you can have the crappiest aim and still do well for yourself and your team.

I know how ya feel i used to be like that also but then u get alittle better at it. But in a big game it's really hard not to get shot dead in blink of an eye most times

Resistance online if you choose a smaller players room then it wouldnt be in such a fast pace, try 8 players or less then you gonna this is slow.....and if you play a"sniper room only" you can hide and zoom to snipe, there were times I was hiding noone found me in like over 20 minutes until I got sniped and it was in 40players room - youve got to know what youre doing......remember try a"sniper room"!

OK, first of all i'd like to name the one main problem with resistance online... in the custom games, just about EVERY custom game is... yes, 1 HIT KILL, if you get lucky, you can find 3 games maximum that arent 1 hit kills...

you could say the solution would be to play ranked games, but those are often annoying mainly because of the laark, and people using amped up shottys as chimeras to get 1 hit kills, which is extremely easy and just as bad as playing a 1 hit kill game.

and if you do manage to get a good game going (no laark, no rossmore, no 1 hit kills) you still manage to get a few newbs every once and awhile that will just go for the 40mm grenade every time, and there is the other problem, no options to shut off the 40 mm grenade. and no... at close/mid range it DOES NOT take skill to 40 someone

as far as non 1 hit kill games go, the other weapons can be very deadly if used properly, the dragon is capable of taking an enemy out in one hit at close range, if you know how to use it properly, and no its not the easiest thing to do like the shotty, laark, or 40, and the arc charger... dont even get me started.. its one of the best weapons in the game

i took an arc charger up into the tower like part of the bus yard, (where people snipe u through the windows) and killed 3 people at once with it, it can kill an enemy faster than a carbine at mid\close range if you know how to use it (unless your some kind of god and get a headshot on every single kill)

the bullseye is kind of cheap... you can tag someone from behind and they wont have a chance, but then again if you try tagging someone from the front, you could be dead by the time you get a few rounds squeezed off, it holds more rounds than the carbine but its less accurate, the bullets fire more spread out than the carbine mainly at long distances,

carbine you get more headshots with because of its superior accuracy

like the one guy said though, play smart and you can do good

stay out of the open, stick to cover, dont stay in one place for to long, dont try to snipestanding still unless your absolutley sure that the players on the other team dont know what they are doing and wont try to snipe you back even still, its not a good idea. dont rush the enemy base, which can be sloppy and will get you killed quick unless you got a laark

there is a number of different tactics for each map, a good way to learn them is by playing with top rated players and watch what they do

Dont give up on it!! I go to bed every night with my brain frazzled after a few hours online. If you go straight into a 40 player ffa deathmatch you will probably get shot evry 10 seconds! As others have said, start in the smaller games, play some ctf or meltdown, get a bluetooth and either join a clan or make sure you are in a squad that will help/cover you when the bullets start flying. Give it 3 or 4 weeks and you will be sniping from one side of Manchester to the other!
