RIP PSN ID: BigDaddyFatSac

Just wanted to rant a little about the PSN. Today I tried to log on to my PSN account for yet another round of enjoyable shoot 'em up in Socom 4 online, but was surprised when I got an error message that read: "This account and been temporariy suspended", when I attempted to log on. So, I called Playstation and they informed me that my account had been flagged by a moderator because my online ID, 'BigDaddyFatSac' was inappropriate for use on the PSN. Long story short . . . I pissed off a moderator in a game on Socom 4 and he flagged my account for deletion citing that my screen name was offensive to other users on the network. I didn't do or say anything vulgar to offend this guy, (yes, it was a guy . . . I heard him speaking in the lobby). . . the only thing I could come up with is that he was angry because I was totally owning him during the game. He was sniping in the same hiding spot, thinking that he was being clever, so I made it my mission to keep him out of this spot by shooting him in the face everytime he would get in it. He sent me an in-game message that was basically just calling me out and using explicatives to describe me and the way that I play, to which I replied "maybe you should just get a new game?" Who are these moderators that have the power to flag the accounts of people that enrage them in online games . . . I couldn't help that I was just better than this guy. I've been using the online ID: BigDaddyFatSac since the first Socom game came out in 2002. So, I that has been my playstation online identity for almost a decade. I feel totally cheated and now I've lost all my trophies and friends from my PSN account. I have to start completely over! Does anyone know if I can appeal this, if so who do I contact? This in a total injustice . . . it's not so much the trophies and friendslist, but my online gamer identity that I've built over the past decade is now gone over night. What's wrong with the name BigDaddyFatSac? Am I wrong? Is it so offensive that I should have my right to free speech silenced because some pimple-faced moderator living in his mother's basement somewhere has nothing better to do than suck at video games and take out his jealous rage on gamers that are better than he? Tell me what you think, I'd appreciate the feedback.

I personally don't see anything wrong with that PSN ID, but I'm sure somewhere that SOMEONE was offended by it. My PSN ID was almost going to be ButterYour Muffin but I was afraid that some whiny little kid would be offended by it.

I called PSN yesterday and was polite but firm in my request that they should reinstate my user name as a loyal PS3 user and fan. I got about 3 people deep in the phone call after I kept asking to speak to superiors before I got some jack-wagon named 'Anthony' on the phone and he listened to me for about a minute before he just hung up on me. At this point I'm just consideringselling my playstation and buy an Xbox . . . I figure an American company would understand the right of free speech. Also, if you can't be whoever you want in a fantasy game universe, then what else is there? I only created that screen name because I thought it would be funny to somebody, somewhere. If I wanted to offend people I would have just made a name like, 'jew killer' or 'porchmonkey'. The bottom line is . . . Sony doesn't really care about their customers or respect the people who are loyal to them. To the people who don't really believe that the conversation between the suspected moderator and I are the true: That is absolutely the truth . . . I am a humble gamer and I don't berate anyone online . . . after all it's just a flippin' game. Sure, I get mad and yell explicatives at the screen sometimes when I feel someone has gotten a cheap kill (usually a camper), but I always remind myself that it's just a game. Also, I can only speculate that the guy I'm thinking of is actually a moderator. For all I know, it could have been some silent 'keeper of the network' I never actually had contact with at all. Still, who are these moderators? I picture some pimple-faced college kid somewhere sitting in a lonely apartment somewhere with three cats playing games to no endand ruining the last 8 gaming years of people's lives . . . good game dude. Since I've lost all of the friends on my list and have to find new ones . . . you may all friend me at my new screename: BigDaddyFatSacx . . . yes, I was able to create the same name . . . basically. If you create names like that in the first place then there should be a 'grandfather clause'. Anyone ever play a game of home run derby or beer pong with a kid who makes up rules after the game has started? I have and his name is . . . SONY! Anyway, this is all laughable and frustrating at the same time . . . I hope somebody somewhere feels my pain. Anyway, I'll see you all online soon.

Lol...it's an unfortunate that we live in a society where everyone is super sensitive and offended by everything, yet we all watch movies and listen to music with explicit language in it. People need to seriously get over themselves and stop the whining and complaining about everything.

I recently read an article about an 11 year old boy who was blacklisted for scoring to many touchdowns in his football games. Are we supposed to spend time catering to everyone's slighest discomfort or do we encourage people to 'deal with it and carry on'? That's messed up you lost your ID like that and if you feel like you don't want to support Sony anymore, I can understand where you're coming from.

Doesn't temporarily suspended mean you'll be allowed to sing on in a few weeks? And if what you say is true, call Sony and tell them.

i think you arent seeing the point of sony here. your name is a bit innapropriate from some age groups. im not saying youre name offends me...but some kids ae too young to be exposed to stuff...and your name is suggestive at best.

I've seen a lot more offensive names than yours when playing BC2. I'd be hella pissed if Sony suspended my account on such ludicrious terms as "username offensiveness".
