This happens a lot apparently with the Rockband first generation guitars. I imagine if you bought it now it would be fixed.

As far as the rest of the hardware it's solid. I've had no problems and certain individuals beat the tar out of the drums in my house.

Personally I can't recommend Rockband enough, the game is awesome.

GH3 guitar doesn't currently work with Rockband, Activision is blocking it. It's a bunch of BS they want Harmonix to pay them a fee to license their guitar. Dumb move activision because I and I'm sure plenty of others would've bought GH3 for the guitar and game, so it looks like I'll be sticking with just Rockband.

even if the guitar does break (downstrum or double strum issues) it's an easy fix

my guitar had both issues, so i went on the net, found how easy it was to fix without even voiding the warranty.... and now, it works even better than it did out of the box

The hardware is soooo f***ing terrible. If you play the drums on expert for even a moderate amount of time the bass drum pedal WILL break. They've come out with a new version of it, they're still having the same problem. They just cut corners and used the cheapest plastic.

The guitar is not as good as the GH3 controller and you can't use the GH3 controller with the PS3 version of Rock Band for some reason. Also, the Rock Band guitar is faulty. (double strumming, motion sensing not working, etc.)

It really sucks because the game itself is sooo much more fun than GH.

The fixes you find for the hardware are all real easy, and effective, but you shouldn't have to do that if you're paying $170 for the whole thing.

It's an awesome game. I just wish it supported more than 2 instruments at a time out of the box with no need for a USB adaptor.

What are these fixes that everyone's talking about? I'm thinking about picking up the PS3 version of Rock Band. I only have the 360 version now, which I play with the GH3 controller. But if there's a way to make the Rock Band peripherals more reliable / safer, then if someone could let me know I'd appreciate that.

I know that there is a guy on ebay that sells metal plates that you can attach to the bass pedal (there's a video over at epiliptic gaming regarding this).

Also, a friend of mine has RB for the 360, and his guitar broke on him.

I'm waiting on better hardware and the wife's permission :? before I pickup RB for ps3.

Not sure what the fixes are for the guitar. For the drum pedal, you can screw a piece of wood or metal on to the plastic pedal to reinforce it. Look for directions online (just google it).
