rpg franchise

So, ffXIII is coming out soon and there seems to be many discussions on wether it will be good or not, so here's my question to other rpg fanatics out there, which franchise do you have most faith in to deliver a good game.

My personal opinion on this one would be persona or any shin megami tensei game, they have yet to dissapoint and theyd have to be hard pressed to do so as well

Final Fantasy.

Despite the fact that it's limited and it doesn't have what I personally want out of an RPG, XIII is still going to deliver because that's what the FF franchise does. It doesn't matter what it's doing or why because it's always doing it well.

Shin Megami Tensei. Just about every game they bring out is solid. The lone exception might be the original Persona, but that's such an old game. That series has evolved dramatically since its release.

Final Fantasy is another good one, but only the main games. I'm not a fan of the spin-off series like Crystal Chronicles, the 47 FF7 spin-off games, etc. FF Tactics for the PS1/PSP is fantastic though.

Huh thats hard since a lot of my fave rpg series are done. I would say FF but I am not sure about FFXIII. I love the tales of games but they do need to do something with the next one to make it more interesting. If nintendo wasn't being lame about their ways lately and made good games I would say Paper mario as i loved the SNES mario rpg and both paper marios. Hmmm....Diablo...does that count? I love Diablo II.

Suikoden, best storytelling and characters

Id have selected suikoden too but unfortunatly 4 was abysmal

Amen to that, i dont imagine ever seeing a game as good as xenogears was though

Final Fantasy- als long as it's not an MMO or a spinoff.

XIII will be a GOTY contender... that's just a given. *puts up flame shield*

To me any games made after 2 were abysmal:? I was really starting to love that series after 2 too.....

This is a hard question. I guess I would have to go with the SMT franchise.

I'm a huge Ogre battle freak. Not really traditional RPG's I guess, but close enough.

Suikoden is also a fav. I rather enjoyed 4 ha ha. In fact i just bought 3 today, and i'm actually pondering on playing it instead of FFXIII

The Tales series because every Tales game I've ever played has been great.

Even though Tales of Legendia wasn't nearly as good as Tales of Symphonia or Tales of the Abyss, Ithoroughly enjoyed it for what it was. It also had the best music.

FINAL FANTASY

No matter what you think of each installment, the series has pretty much delivered excellence from their proper numbered installments. XIII is going to be no different but greatness. Unless I'm wrong, it is the longest running series in RPGs, for it being around for so long, it is no wonder it is known to be the RPG King.

Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts are the only franchises (in RPG category) that I expect a good, fun game out of. I would say the Chrono games, but only been 2. :-/

I've never played a JRPG, but when it comes to RPGs in general, Fallout always delivers.
