The ending movie in Shadow of the Colossus... what a great game !!!!
Hope we get some details on the new Team ICO project... am sure its gonna be something great...
The saddest moment in gaming was almost certainly when Floyd agrees to sacrifice himself in order to help you at the very end of the Infocom game: "Planetfall".
Floyd was your robot companion throughout the game, always popping in to make you laugh or to help you with some task. But at the end of the game, there's a situation that Floyd knows will kim him. He offers to do it anyway...and does it. And then dies in your arms.
I was only a kid at the time, but I still remember actually crying when it happened.
My saddest gaming moment would have to be when I reached the grand finale in Xenosaga Episode III. It is seriously the most amazing thing I have ever seen in a videogame. Metal Gear is one of my favorite videogame series yes, but Xenosaga is insane once you reach the end of Ep. 3.
SPOILER WARNING
/////////////////////////
Chaos turns out to be the messiah, Yeshua, at the end of episode 2, and at the end of Ep. 3 he confesses to everyone that he has lived for over four thousand years awaiting the time for the universe to self destruct so that he can see his love Mary again as well as hopefully saving space-time itself. Jin dies. Canaan kills himself to kill Voyager. Jin's love, Pellegri, dies, Margulis dies, Kos-Mos gets obliterated (her will survives). Shion meets Kevin again and they finally resolve their "stolen" love because of Kevin's death. All of the characters split off in groups and leave each other as they all try to start humanity's atonement.
The series has ended but was left open for future storytelling, which will probably incorporate new characters because the universe won't die for another several thousand years, therefore no problems and conflicts until then :( And last but not least the last sentence of dialogue in the end credits when Kos-Mos and Chaos are talking and she says "Good Night" instead of the usual "Good Morning" to Shion: a very fitting but sad ending haha
