Samsung monitor and PS3 no picture. help?

Bros. Help me out. I bought a new Samsung S27C350H (a 27 inch HD monitor) to use with my PS3 ultra slim but the picture dosnt show up. The monitor works fine via HDMI with my laptop and the PS3 works fine with Sony Bravia and my old 21 inch LCD. To be on the safe side, I went out and got a branded HDMI cable but nothing. The monitor's still blank when I connect. Any help/ideas?

what resolution was the ps3 set when you had it on the bravia?

1080p.

try lowering the res on the ps3 to 720p and then try it on the samsung.

yes i would but my video dosnt even come up. The screens blank and theres a floating box with the sign "check signal cable HDMI". 

change it from a tv/monitor that works first.

Ah taking to the shop tomorrow with my PS3 and asking them to fix it. Sony support couldn't help either. Just my luck. Thanks tho.
