hi there everyone, im considering getting a PS3 soon but was curious as to what the level of backword compatibility it has with the PS1 and PS2 game collection, not in terms of what games are playable but rather if it is possible to save games on the PS3's hardrive, with PS1 and PS2 games.

the reason i ask is that, during the last gen transition i noticed i was unable to save my PS1 games on my PS2, im interested in getting a PS3 rather soon but i am unsure as to whether i should trade in my PS2 console, to get it as there a a number of PS2 games i am yet to fully complete.

if anyone has tried a PS1 game on their PS3 also i would appreciate your comment, (i have the complete range of final fantasy series i still put in from time to time).
