There's always been a lot of discussion on the boards (especially system wars) about who's got the better graphics. It's been almost a year since PS3 hit the markets and we're fast approaching second generation games. I guess my question would be is anybody impressed with the progression of graphicsin upcoming games? I personally think that a second gen title like R&CF:ToD are definitley on par, if not better, than Heavenly Sword. I'm sure that R&C has been in the works for a bit, but R:FoM came first. Compare that to Uncharted that we've known about since E3 '05 or '06. I just can't consider that a second gen game. Kane and Lynch, CoD4, MGS 4, UT3! Those will be just a few second gen titles that people will be looking to. They will be compared. Does everyone think that we are starting to see PS3 progression?

2nd gen in ps3 life.
1st gen games are the games that are released in the first 1-2 years.
for example, a killzone 2 staff member when asked if the game would be visually like the video shown in e3 2005, he said not for now, but by the 2nd-3rd gen ps3 games, they will. which means in 2-4 years, ps3 games will be graphicaly far better than the present ps3 games.
like what happened with the ps2 games during ps2 lifetime.
For me next gen graphics is all down todevelopers and how much time they want to spend on the game.Even at the end of the ps2s life they were some really bad graphical games and some really good ones,don't get me wrong some developers take advantage of experience and make the games look beter after a few titles but most just stop the same...take devil may cry for instance..first game was breath taking for its time..then the secound one looked like a psone game:/,the onimushas from 1-dawn of dreams graphics never really changed .
I think graphics on next games comes with time and experience...ie look at the time and effort thats went into killzone 2 and to me it looks better than anything out there.
i would say second gen games (in relation to PS3 and 360) I've seen are.... gears of war, lost planet, heavenly sword, ratchet and clank, uncharted and motorstorm.
