seriously... what's taking so long?

I need some games already.

Not one of my anticipated games came out. To justify my PS3 purchase, I ended up buying multiple PS3 games which I wouldn't even look at normally, like Call of Duty 3.

Seriously, where are the JRPGs? What's taking Disgaea 3 so long when it looks below average even for PS2 game?

After MGS4, which isn't even out yet, how long will I have to wait until I get another game to play?

and wtf is up with Home?

and yes I know Disgaea 3 has been scheduled for August release, but hasn't that game been out for months in Japan already? wtf is up with this wait? Couldn't Sony at least support their third party developers to release more games on both side of the hemisphere quicker? It's not like they are porting the game to another system. The codes are the same. Only problem is translation, which could've easily been helped if Nippon Ichi didn't have to wait for the money to roll in Japan before they decided to release it in the States. That could've been helped if Sony lent out a helping hand.

It's just terrible management that's all.

Not much anything any of us could tell you then. I suggest you find some PS2 JRPGs, to hold you over until White Knight, Disgaea 3, Valkryia, FF13, etc... PS2 JRPGs are in ample supply. MGS4 is technically a Japanese game, and thats just a month away.

You would think in this kind of situation, Sony would do more to secure their exclusive titles and try to speed up the process of distributing the games. Disagaea 3 came out January and it is scheduled to be released on August. Do you really need 8 months to translate the game? I know Disgaea games usually have plenty of text and many cultural specific stuff that requires careful translation, but couldn't they have at least shorten it by working it on while they were in development of the game? When the PS3 library is so thin, shouldn't Sony tried to have buff it up by helping Nippon Ichi with their distribution in the states? Microsoft seems to be throwing money to get more games in their library, what did Sony really do?

As for learning Japanese, it is not easy. Trying to remember all the kanji is difficult and I don't have that much free time due to working.

I mean I'm home trying to use little time I have to enjoy some games I want to play, only to find out I don't have any games I want to play. That just frustrates me quite a bit, enough to find the need to b**** about it somewhere, which happens to be here.

I like Disgaea but most people are like FPS this and FPS that. And this can be seen on how the 2 of the major PS3 titles coming soon are FPSs.

Well I was just answering the question why I bought the system, that's all.

Well I'm not complaining because those games (minus Disgaea) is not out yet. I knew they would take a while and delays were going to happen.

Whatever problem they have programming for the game is inevitable. That much I can understand.

What I don't understand is Sony's passive approach to adding more library to their system. Many Japanese games seems to have TBA for Japan only. Which would suggest that they are waiting for Japanese release and then decide if they will release it to the State or not.

Such problem can be solved if Sony supports their third party developers. Give them more security of distribution in United States, so they can start their USA distribution process while they develop their games, not after.

Anyway, I wanted to vent out a little. After a ****y day you come home and try to cheer yourself up. Look at the games you have and realize you have nothing you want to play. Check online to see when the games I want comes out, only to find out it got cancelled and it is Wii exclusive instead.

That kind of ticked me off and I wanted to vent out a bit. Thanks for listening people, but I don't know why people are so negative about complaints. It's not like I'm being unreasonably *****y. As fans and owners of PS3, should we complain if something isn't done right? this is PS3 board isn't it? we should discuss about PS3 negative and positives right?

chill out, There aren't many jrpg's on any of the 3 systems. Wii will have monster hunter and tales of symphonia 2 and rygar when ever that comes out. 360 has blue dragon eternal sonata lost odyssey and tales of vesparia. Blue Dragon is a dragon quest rip off for the most part. Lost Odyssey is like Final Fantasy only it has to load everything for 30 seconds, some people liked the story, some people did not. They just put out wilds arms 5 on ps2 last year and it takes like 3 to 4 years to make a sequel to an rpg in these new generation days. There is an rpg in development by 5 japanese companies, the game is called cross edge or something like that. It has only been confirmed for japan so far, but if they have Capcom, Namcom Nippon-ichi Software and 2 other companies making one game, you can bet it will be released everywhere sooner or later.

So pretty much I am assuming you only have ps3 and not any of the other systems, all I can say is expand your tastes or get another system to go along with the ps3. Everyone thought that games would be out faster on all consoles across the board but they aren't so go back and replay an old rpg or something because these "ps3 has no games" posts are getting rather old and frankly most people have moved on so why don't you.

I like fighters and think Tekken 6 should be out now and it isn't but you don't see me making posts on how ps3 has no games or fighter or anything.

It also breaks down to this: North America has the biggest market for video games and in this region shooters, warlike games, and realistic racers are what most people are intersted in, so that is where most developers put their money. Japan's gaming market is almost so small it might as well not even be there. The ps3 does not do so well over there and so companies aren't going to risk making rpg's for a system with a small fanbase. Even the most popular system the wii over there only sells about a quarter as much there as it does in NA or EU and most of the games there flop 2 times harder than they do in other areas of the world as well. Only the Mario games and the casual games like Wii fit and Wii sports did well. Even the Dragon Quest swords game wasn't as successfull on the system.

Your going to be waiting awhle for jrpg's no matter which current generation system you have and that is that.

Stop crying. Most of us hear don't complain about the lack of games because:

1) We have a life and gaming isn't the center of our daily lives.

2) We have jobs and once againt..don't center our lives around games.

3) Have girls (or vice versa).

I beat gta4 pretty quick and I went on to play a ps2 game to pass time (Tales of the Abyss). Stop stressing the fact that games YOU want aren't out because some gamers are satisfied with the games that are out and are enjoying themselves.

I get in 2-4 hours per night if i am lucky...i work and go to the gym amongst other things and i have about 10-12 PS3 games which i like esp GTA4 i have not beaten COD4 i have beated and R6V2 i beat as well. GRAW2 I have not completed and I am sick of FPS games to many are coming out.

A lot of RTS games are coming in SEPT plus madden in aug and then SOCOM. So get ready for them and if that does not help you i really feel sad for you because I get bored of gaming and i dont do it 24/7! There are other things to life besides playing PS3 or watever and HOME is something that is going to be delayed for ages and I dont really see why people are hyped for a virtual life. I mean c'mon ever since i played GTA4 and learned that you can go "online" in a videogame that kind of got me spooked and saddened :(
