I agree that it should only be included if it fits well enough with the game. I for one didn't really feel like it fell in neatly enough with God of War for it to have been included. However, I didn't mind it being included in Grand Theft Auto IV because I felt like it keeps up a real world aspect that the game has.
BTW, just like others have said, I've tried to track you and always am disappointed when your profile is private :(.
Oh and Symphony, your profile is set to private and I want to track you. You can track me if you want but I can understand if you only want friends to be your friends on GS. Its all good though if you dont.LiquidDom

Depends on the context, but to be honest with you..we plays games where we run over cops and fight gang bangers over drugs, we play gory bloody games, heck there is a game based on SAW coming out...I'm actually surprised that we HAVEN'T seen sex in games more frequently and BEFORE any of this other stuff.
As for my opinion, I wouldn't mind it either way..I'm old enough to accept it and not be offended by it.
I think this issue, though, is indeed the holy grail for game developers that love, or are dieing, to push the envelope...and somewhere there is a guy right not trying to figure out how to make it work, while at the same time making it a legit game. Because lets face it, in order to get any pub at all, it would have to be a good game to begin with...definitely something that would score an 8 or better.
i dont see the problem if it fits the game do you hate sex in a movie, no if the plot needs it, as long as the movie is not all about pointless sex.psyum
Sex is never pointless heh heh heh. lol
I don't see a reason for me to accept sex in movies or games. Sex as a media form of art does not compute with me. A sex scene in a game is not needed and the same effect could've been done just by "inferring" that there was one.Symphonycometh

Lol why do people track people i got someone tracking me thinking i will do something else on the site lol im only here for the forums and the reviews.
other than that its stupid to have it in games and just hurts gaming reputation just like hot coffie did
This kinda reminds me of that thing where someone says "Who would win in a fight between a tiger and a grizzly bear?" While I don't like seeing animals get hurt, if it went down, I don't think I could turn my eyes away merely due to the intrique of the idea...I feel the same way about stumbling upon a point in the game where I'm treated to a skinimax scene. I probably would be thinking 'This is really stupid' yet at the same time find myself watching the whole thing lol.

I think some storytelling is really hurt due to the fact that all games try to avoid sex as if it was something that doesn't exist.
Just taking one example now, I remember that FF7 would really benefit if there was a clear idea of sex or at least sexual intention. Since it is avoided, the whole Cloud and Tifa relation just before going to face Sephiroth is just plain weird(this assuming that Tifa was the one that went with you on the date all that thing). They look more like two adolescents from a prude tv show. It is just never clear if there is something serious between them, if they even are on a relationship ore something.
On the other hand, you may argue against it, but Metal Gear 3 is a game with a sex scene. *kinda spoiler* Snake has sex with Eva at the end, and the story would greatly suffer if this was simply removed altogether from the game.
I have a raging indifference towards this topic so I shall comment no further. :P
The more I think about it, the more I realize that I just don't care whether or not there is sex in videogames because I don't play a game looking to see whether there will or will not be any sex. I don't anticipate it, but at the time, nothing changes if it's present. If there is sex, then oh well - if there isn't sex, then oh well to that too. :D

For me, sex in the media isn't the least bit interesting. It really couldn't be more fake. In saying that though, I do accept sex as a part of the film industry, although when its not CRUCIAL to the plot, I'll most likely become disinterested. Implication can be just as powerful as explicit display.

I agree with you there. Oh, and just an example of non-essential is the prostitute sex in GTA.
Definetely not necessary, especially as a part of the gameplay. It can, however, be a necessary part in plot development, but if it were up to me, sex and videogames would remain completely separate.RandomBeast
Hahaha - I don't know why, but your comment about the separation of sex and video games reminds me of the separation of church and state.

?? Lol.. Nothing against it, I just see it as unnecessary.

I didn't think it would be this bad to warrent me placing a thread again, since I only make threads when the PS3 forums get too wishy washy on one topic. I mean come on peeps! It's a bloody firmware! :lol:I've said it before and I'll say it again. If I wanted to see people having sex, why would I watch polygons when I could just watch porn and see real people do it?Denjilol. Nicely said.

Im not gonna try and be this guy with wholesome image lol, I think it'll be awesome, its just gonna be hard to keep the minors away from it even if you put an R-18 sticker on the cd case coz some people are stuck with the idea that video games are still for kids.
but imagine playing it with your girlfriend or wife, it would totally set up the mood, specially for those guys whose sick of
f*#%*!ing the same woman every night, lol

What's the difference? It's still fictional sex. Only the fiction part about the real people is the "story" (if there is one)
Not all porn is "hardcore" cause they just do the same stuff us "regular people" do. I mean, if you want to go fictional, atleast you can watch real people do it. I mean, if you want to go down that route, would you get off on the softcore DOA stuff too? If you're emotionally attached to the characters and they're inlove, fine. But we don't need to see polygon characters getting it on. Sex is still sex, you just counterdicted yourself cause watching them "show their love" is still watching people have sex. DEFINE PORN..??
