Sex In Gaming

Wow I'm amazed someone hasn't come into this thread going "OMGZZ SEXZZZ AND BOOBZIEZZZZ RULEZZZZZ.....Z".:? Wait...ah ****!:cry:

Anyway I think you already know my opinion on sex in video games.;)

Sex and sexuality are essential parts of adult life. Games that attempt mature subject matter without any sex or sexuality make it feel conspicuously absent.

There is no need for it to be gratuitous. I think Mass Effect did an excellent job. It was there, it felt real, but it was not graphic. Even though the story was hollow at many points, I thought they did this really well.

If it fits the game, it's ok. Something like God of War is ok.

I just don't want it to be like pr0n, you know....explicit sex. Games are for fun not for boners.

i say it's not needed. No, not because i'm a prude, and no, not becasue i'm against it, but because it's just completely unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, I see ways how sex could be used as something "new" in gaming, if carried out correctly. for example: to progress ia love story or something, now i would like to see that (still, NOT the actual act, just the idea like the scene before the act then after). GoW is the only game that I can recall to incorporate sexual activity and make a little game out of it. I thought it was fun (i went for ALL the red orbs :) ), but i clearly see how the "sensitive" and "immature" crowd would react. So if devs don't want any bad rep, i say stay away from sex. as if violence wasn't smashing-them-in enough already.

On side note, i wonder if saying "I need to accumulate your red orbs in order to upgrade my weapon" would be a good line to score. i'm gonna try it on my gf. if i say it all serious in funny way , i might get a laugh :P

A game is all about making your way trough obstacles and problems not to see 2 (or more :P) people having sex. You have pr0n sites for that.

That's what I think - if done well it can greatly help the game, for instance if there is an MGS4 level of voice acting and superior cutscenes sex and love can (and in terms of love, did) greatly help the game and how it effects you, as a result I feel it can help how deep and emotional you find a game if done well, sex can be art, and greatly contribute to art, and may art rule the day!

Showing the act is completly unnecesary, but suggesting that the act actualy took place could greaty affect the story (MGS3), but complety scratching it out, would make thing a little dumb, (like a poster said about FF7).

You can use the term "sex" is a video game, only if used well, and not exploited.

i dont mind as long is part of the story or it relates to the gamesplay in some way should b fine, its part of the real life anyways y should it b hidden? ppl look at it like if it was something bad

I don't think it's a big problem in some game, lets say M rated games. In fact, I think they would be good in some games like RPG game (because usually these games contains love stories) but not TOO much

Without sex in games, how will men stop cheating on their wives/girlfriends? See it's better than X-Rated films, since you are using the controller with both hands, so you don't feel bad afterwards. So you want to stop the growing popularity in an alternative to making relationships stronger and more stable? My friend are YOU against America? I say they need to add more. It's helping kids grow up with both parents and keeping food on their tables! It's a neccessity in the natural chain of life!!!j-bldes

It depends on games. If the game has a lot of nice girls like some from DMC4 and MGS4 then yes I want to see more naughty angles of them :lol:GaMeR_Willz

Depends on the context, but to be honest with you..we plays games where we run over cops and fight gang bangers over drugs, we play gory bloody games, heck there is a game based on SAW coming out...I'm actually surprised that we HAVEN'T seen sex in games more frequently and BEFORE any of this other stuff.

As for my opinion, I wouldn't mind it either way..I'm old enough to accept it and not be offended by it.

I think this issue, though, is indeed the holy grail for game developers that love, or are dieing, to push the envelope...and somewhere there is a guy right not trying to figure out how to make it work, while at the same time making it a legit game. Because lets face it, in order to get any pub at all, it would have to be a good game to begin with...definitely something that would score an 8 or better.

only problem with sex in games is that M$, nintendo and sony won't allow any AO games on their sysems. I don't really consider it "sex" unless you actually see the act, so god of war doesnt really count. I don;t see why it'd be so illogical to be playing as predator in a city environment and NOT see people **** now and then.

It doesn't bother me either way. If it moves the story along I am for it but if not - well it would just be pointless like Rumble Roses.

if it is used for the story or developement of the characters, i dont mind. If it is just random like GOW2 then no thanks.

Hey they dont even need to show the actual sex. They can hint that the characters did have it through text, dialouge, body language, and heck the "making out as the screen slowly turns into black" technique ;)

There are already tons of Sex games, just none of them are in America. Sex w/nudity usually wont make much sense with most games we have out now. although it would be cool if lets say you're sneaking around town and you happened to spy a couple making out or something in a gta type of game. Or have a realistic fighting game where peoples clothes are destructible.

Also i dont think too many people even have a problem with sex in games. Leisure suit larry had tons of nudity in it but never heard anything about it in the media. The problem i think people might have with sex in games is that children play games. all those stupid kids who copied GTA would have been better off playing sex games in my opinion.

Most of the time its very pointless. However, "Mass Effect" is the only game that used a sex scene in a very tasteful and artfull way. That really went with the flow and feel of the story.
