Shame, Vita confirmed for early next year release

Sony Pres Hirai has confirmed no PS Vita for USA and EU for this year. Japan however are lucky and will have it by end of this year.

Dissapointed, really wanted this thing out this year.

They're still keeping their promise. It will be released in Japan, China, and Taiwan this year then there will be a phased rollout.

im happy with this. there are too many games i havent got round to playing yet on other systems but i would probably wait for a few months before buying the vita anyway..

This is such a disappointment :( I was soo excited for the vita to come out around black friday to pick it up..had a set plan for it and everything.

Agree with most coments with mixed reactions.

I had pre-ordered it as well asall signs were pointing to it being out this year.

The 3DS isn't really selling well and so think of the potential advantage Sony have lost by getting it out this year. By the time its out 3DS sales will have picked up.

But on the other hand there are many good games already for the year so yeah, thats a positive.

I have no problem with waiting, but do fear that giving the 3DS a Holiday season ahead could hurt its sales a bit.

Honestly I'm a bit disappointed but also relieved since now I won't have to put aside as much money and can pick up more games this holiday season. I mean holy crap Skyrim, MW3, BF3, Arkham City, Dead Island, Gears of War 3, Uncharted 3, Halo Anniversary, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Resistance 3, and I'm sure I missed so much more. Must buy all....forget paying tuition...drop out and sit on my butt all day...need my video games.

At least they have more time to get the kinks out. I'm not getting the system anyway until there's at least 10 games I want to play.
