if sony and square are smart yes it doesnt matter how expensive this game would be to make the profits would farrrr outweigh the production and i love ff7 so yes
If Square wanted to make some serous cash then yes. My personal opinion no I still own my PSX copy and I have the digital copy off of the PSN. I rally want Square (Team4) to work with Matsumi on a sequel to Vagrant Story IMO of course. Better yet Sqyare should work on some new IP's.

Im not huge into going back and reusing games but since square are, they should start focusing on the other amazing FF titles like they did with 4.cos 7 isnt everyones favorite(one of mine though :p )
As long as the only things upgraded are the graphics and sounds, then yeah. Voice acting is pretty eh to me... Lance Bass as Sephiroth? Don't make me kill you Squeenix.
As for all the whiners complaining about this thread and people wanting a remake: almost every thread on GS is old before it's even created. If you don't like it, then don't read it or waste time posting... and yeah, a lot of people talk about getting a remake of 7, but it's not complaining. (at least not in my case) It'd just be cool. A remake of 6 would also be greatly appreciated.

To counter that, what would be the point of spamming this place with FF7 Remake threads when you'd be better off spamming Square with that crap? Where does whining and pleading about it here, get you? Not to mention, it's been done to death. Heaven forbid someone use brain power to actually make a thread people want to read. Sure, you can make that "don't like it, don't click it" arguement. But I feel people have the right to complain if this is all they see on here as they have the right to be annoyed after three years of this. You would be annoyed as well if someone kept asking the same question that has been answered a million times, even by the company itself. Especially when it's just a popular catch phrase in the RPG world all because it was the only Final Fantasy to go "mainstream". They used that fact as a base for a tech demo to get people's attention. To buy PS3s. Nothing more.
I just beat it a couple of hours ago and after all that tedious level grinding in the North Cave I am going to say...No! I won't be playing the original, a remix, or a remake of this for a long time.
Come on people. I usually just look away when someone repeats a topic but this is getting really old now. Everyone wants it remade. We wish, we remember, we laugh, we cry... yada yada yada. Nuff said.
Well, a remake...no. But another game in the same universe would be good. I liked the psp games, and movie. The game was great in its day, we should either remember it as it is, or not at all.
To say that people "should" want anything is assuming your own opinion is correct.
I think a remake would be a lot of fun and I'm sure the many gamers who agree are fully capable of judging what they "should want" for themselves.

I do wish Square would focus more on making new games instead of milking their old ones, but I have to admit a remake of FF7 with the Advent Children graphics would be pretty sweet...
alot of people here saying to leave it the way it is cause its good...have you played the psn re-release trust me it was better in '97...FF7 is the profit machine for square...they should be updating it ever few generations. I liked square for the mana series other people maybe perfer ffVI others like lesser known rpg's...any true rpg fan can tell you the ff7 isnt the BEST rpg around...but its the difinitive rpg that made role playing as big as it is today. FF7 is to rpg's like Michael Jackson is to pop culture sure we had elvis before him and he was great....but mj touched 4 generations....of kids
