I'm finding the text all fuzzy, small, and the graphics seems all jagged, which I am playing my PS3 on a standard TV. How will a HDMI cable make a difference? Will it solve somewhat the edgy small text?
Cheers,

If you have an SDTV you can't use HDMI cables unfortunately. But if you have an HDTV definitely go for it.

No, sorry. I know this because I was playing in an SDTV before. The text in most games is blurry and it makes your eyes hurt. I know it sucks.:(

How old is your TV? If it was made within the past 10 years there should be component inputs (red, blue, green). If so, you may want to try using component cables to get a better picture if you're not already doing so.

They used to make the text large and easy to read on PS2. But back then everybody had an SDTV. Today they're making games with HDTV in mind.

YES GET ONE! It is soooo much better, especially if you have a bigger TV than 20". It makes everything look, sound, and play better. But be sure to adjust your sensitivity though.

PS3 gaming on a HDTV is PS3 gaming on a SDTV x 1000... I say, buy a HDTV if you don't have. The gaming experience on it is amazing...

Yeah if your TV has a component input, get component cables. You need component cables specifically for the PS3 (or PS2, they are the same), but you can get them on Amazon for about $5 or so.

Actually, depending on the connection your t.v has (and the game your playing), you can get a S-video cable for your PS3 to get it up to 480p. Some models will even let you use the Component AV Cables. Won't be much of an improvement, but some is better than none.

Hmmm, looks like I'll need to start saving for a HD TV then. This has probabaly been asked a bunch of times, but a LCD would be the best bet? I don't want to spend too much but I hear Plasmas are generally alot more expensive?

Anyway, thanks for your helps guys :)

you can't use HDMI cables on an SDTV (for obvious reasons), just go out there and get a 1080p HDTV (they're real cheap now) and a HDMI cable.

if you have the money get an LED TV, they have contrast ratios upwards of 3 000 000:1 (meaning REALLY deep blacks). Because 3DTV is coming they're getting as cheap as $1400 in Australia.

You actually havent read his post and even so, why especially if you have 20"+? That makes no sense, HDMI is good for any size.

Just pony up for an HDTV. they aren't all THAT expensive these days and believe me, you'll enjoy gaming so much more afterwards. Its like getting corrective glasses after living with 20/60 vision all your life.
