Hey everyone, I'm a 360/Wii owner and I've always been very interested in the God of War series. I am thinking of buying the bundle from Bestbuy which includes the GoW series, but I need some advice. This is the only reason why I want a PS3 is for this series, so my question is, is it worth spending $250 just to play this series? The only other game I want to play is MLB the Show because there is no good baseball game on the 360.

Just for the God of War series? Hell no. But there is other good stuff you will probably like other than just The Show as well.

I would say It would not be worth it if you ONLY plan on playing god of war. The ps3 has so many other great exlusives that you should give a try.

Uncharted series

Resistance Series

Infamous Series

That being said. God of war is a great series too. If you end up getting a ps3, give some of the other games a shot.

First of all, you have WAY too many consoles (how on earth do you have time to play them all)? Okay, well put it to you this way, I have the God of War HD collection and have yet to crack it. InFamous is so-so (but pretty inexpensive anymore). Most of the games I like are cross-platform anyways, I got mine back in 2010 for Gran Turismo 5. That is about the only one I like (I almost regretted not going with a 360 because of Metro 2033, but with Last Light coming out I don't feel so bad, I hope it's like Stalker). That being said, if you have the resources and want one, go for it...

This is the problem lol, I have so many games that I have started or just haven't gotten to yet. I'm a full time student and I work part time so I don't exactly have a tremendous amount of time to play, but I do plan on going back to all the games I've started and completing them. I bought the Wii just so I could play Zelda, but I ended up getting Super Mario Galaxy and I'm happy I decided to buy it. Hopefully if I have time I'll try out the Metroid series as well.

Ok, so let me rephrase my original question. Since I've always been an Xbox owner, I'll always buy any cross platform game on the 360. So is it worth it for me to spend $250 just on PS3 exclusives?

In my opinion, unless there is one exclusive you've tried, liked, and are just itching to play...no. But then, being in my 40s, and having a family to feed, I have to think more frugally (especially in this economy). God of War isn't all that in my opinion. It's not terrible, but there are better games like it (such as Darksiders). For myself, like I said, it was GT5 that did it for me; and that was only because of my fond memories of the first GT on the PS1. I'm really not into all that console wars thing myself, and I most certainly don't mean to discourage anyone if they want a ps3. But it's a lot of money just for GOW. On the other hand, PSN membership is free, there are other games available. Either way, if you do get a PS3, you probably won't be disappointed...

No way. But there are many great ps3 titels to play other than GoW.

MLB the Show 12 demo was great. I don't know about the whole game though.

its not worth getting ps3 just for god of war series. if you REALLY want it and are also interested in ps3 exclusives then i guess its worth it. but honestly this gen if you have either a 360 or ps3 then ur good. i really don't see reason to get both, there are some great exclusives but certainly not worth buying a whole nother system. i just got ps3 cuz i had ps2 before and i didn't wanna have to pay to play online.

Not worth for GOW alone unless you're planning to get other exclusive titles too.

Omg lol, I don't know what to do. So you think it's worth it solely for the PS3 exclusives?

That is if some of them interest you or fit to your taste. So far PS3 has pretty good amount of exclusives and in many different genres as well. Give a simple research on PS3 exclusive list and match them up with your gaming preference to come up with good list of exclusives to buy for PS3.

In my opinion, it's worth it just for God Of War but I'm also a big fan of the series. You'll find once you have a PS3 that there are plenty of great exclusives to play.

PS3 has the best exclusives of which there are many, HD remake exclusives, best online service, it's a blu-ray player & rechargable controllers. It's the one console you SHOULD have lol. God of War, Uncharted, inFamous, Yakuza, Ni No Kuni, The Last of Us & Sly 4 are just a handful of very different games that are either out or coming out soon, just ask yourself if you want to play them.

Sell your Wii and use that money to help buy a PS3. Problem solved.

Ok, apparently the sale is over and it's back up to $300, so I guess I missed my chance. Thank you to everyone who helped me, I appreciate it.

Yes. Absolutely. The PS3 has a ton of great exclusives, covering a wider range of genres than the 360 (most of their exclusives seem to be shooters). Honestly? While they're worth checking out, I don't much like the God of War series. They put entirely too much emphasis on the whole QTE nonsense and lame puzzles that, at times, it doesn't even feel like a proper game. Or, at least for me, it just pulls me out of the action. And given that the series really doesn't have much of a story, the action was really the biggest draw for me. But a lot of people absolutely love the series, so... God of War aside, you can also check out the Uncharted series, inFamous, Resistance (though, it's mostly inferior to the 360's selection of shooters), Heavy Rain, Valkyria Chronicles, and dozens more. Assuming any of those appeal to you, it'll be well worth the purchase price to play PS3 exclusives.

I did the complete opposite. I bought an x-box just cause I wanted to play left for dead. I don't regret it because i tried other x-box exclusive games. I found a bunch that I like. I still buy all cross platforms on my ps3. The god of wars are good games, but you should think about trying some of the other exclusives as well. You never know what you'll find.

He has two consoles, how is that WAY too many... At the very most it's one too many... Last Light will be utterly linear, just like Metro 2033.

hells no don't buy a current gen console this late into the game.. You'll be kicking yourself this time next year when all we see on tv and gamespot is new about the new consoles. Both sony and microsoft have had their new chipsets in mass production for a little while now. We will see new consoles in 2013. Save your money and be patient.
