Hey guys. I bought Metal Gear Solid 4 a while back and I didn't really get into it. I also didn't have too much time then and was already in the middle of another game. Since then, I sold the game but now I'm thinking about picking it up again since it seems to be available for pretty cheap. What do you think? Should I give it another chance?
I'm not sure if you've played previous MGSs, but it could be a reason on why you didn't enjoyed it as much. If you haven't, play the previous 3 games and you'll find yourself giving it another chance for sure.

Well, here's where some people difer.... I personally think the game is way more enjoyable if you know the story, but others say it's not necessary as you can read the story or watch videos from past games, but IMO is better to play them.
Reading the story will give you an idea of what's happening but you lose the emotional connection you get from playing the games.
So do yourself a favor and play through MGS 1-3 and I promise you won't regret. There's a collection pack, MGS Essentials wich include the 3 games for a good price, you can't go wrong with that.
Yes, a great game like this, shouldn't be be missed. you dont really need to play all other three, i only beat the 2nd MGS and i have all three, and i love the game anyway.
You definitely should for your own sake... but it'll be better for you to find a way and play the other MGS games or read the database at least... give it another chance... you've been missing a lot!
Well, i dont know if you really hated it last time or just didnt spend too much playing it, but I think you should if you like stealth games and a great story. I suggest you play it in the hardest difficulty available, since all the otherones make the AI brain dead and the game much less engageing.
