yawn... on the whole of gamespot there are like 2 people that seem to have been effected in a bad way. I have had no problems with it whatsoever... im sure i will continue to have no probs with it and, when sony release the update, i will get that. so... how are things for me?? great, i got 2.40 before lots of other people!
2.4 Works fine on my system. I even fell alseep downloading it, so who knows what could have happend. This seems like a very small percentage of people having problems.
I have had no problems so far. although it does annoy me that the In Game XMB can be quite laggy and slow to load in some games.
Please don't tell me to be patient, I'm a huge fan of Sony and the PS3 and although I know it will be fixed in future updates, Sony have had a lot of time to work on this, you know?
Other than that, no problems at all and very pleased with it.
But the 4.0 "patch" of Super Stardust HD caused my PS3 to stop recognizing my hard drive on the first try. Solution = restart the console using the power switch on the front (not on the back). The three following attempts failed with the PS3 restarting/crashing before the download could proceed. The fifth attempt at downloading the SSDHD patch worked. No problems after this.
