Sneaking up on Snipers in CoD4

You make a good point, but the way I see it, people with close contact guns attack other players on the ground. Snipers should be in elevated areas and pick off the guys on the ground and other sniper attacking them. This is where claymores come in handy.

You make a good point, but the way I see it, people with close contact guns attack other players on the ground. Snipers should be in elevated areas and pick off the guys on the ground and other sniper attacking them. This is where claymores come in handy.

No doubt, well placed claymores are a must for any sniper. I agree with your idea of a perfectly balanced battle, however most players base their tactics off of any unbalance they notice.

it also depends on where you are sniping from as well. but it is realistic for someone to check out a building and kill a sniper. also you do just have to move around since so many people know where the good sniping spots are.

You know, there IS a battle out there happening, and you don't need to snipe all round every round, to me it says you can't take the heat of even simulated battle. This game is only 'Modern Warfare' in the weapons, environments and physics, so your argument is null and void twice over. Being shot by a sniper is inherently sneaky so don't complain if someone sneaks up on you and kills you. Either hide better or accept the consequences. Fast twitch gameplay is a skill too, recognise that COD4 has varied tactics and skills sets.

I mostly just see people upset about snipers but I mean its really quite easy to avoid getting killed by a sniper just watch you're step, I think everyone on this topic know where snipers mostly do well...sniping..like open areas in buildings and rooftops sooooo why dont you try to stay in the alleys and buildings sprint alot and always stay in a tight space with no windows :P I mean of course everyone is going to get killed by a sniper at least once every two rounds or so. Just be a little more tactical with youre movement and personally I am always moving and I dont stay in a building for more than 10 seconds than I just move to the next and so forth. P.S. Im not a expert at the game at all so im not trying to act like I am mister anti-sniper but I hope something I said brings some light to this topic :P!

If you want to be a sniper, thats the dissadvantage. Quit whineing, its to balance out the game.

I know what you mean and yes it can be annoying. The game is like real life and then it isn't. If it was like real life you would probably be able to find like 10 or 15 different places to snipe on a map. There would be more access to higher up places and you would have upon several rooms to choose from. Bigger maps are soon to come because thats what everyone wants and its just a matter of time. My biggest complaint about Cod4 isn't people sneaking up on me but its that there is way too many groupies out there. Every game you enter almost is another group of guys who play together 24/7 and all they want to do is kill as many random people as they can.....If your going to play like that play against another group that plays all the time because as a random person I get sick of it. IW REALLY NEEDS TO DO TWO THINGS HERE AND THEY ARE SETTING UP SOMETHING THAT AFTER EVERY MATCH IT EVENS OUT THE TEAMS BASED ON KILLS/POINTS AND ONCE YOU EXIT/QUIT A GAME AND YOU GO TO SEARCH FOR ANOTHER GAME THAT GAME SHOULD NEVER COME UP AGAIN (This should be set up for every game type and should be called even play that is unless you specifically don't care who you play with or you want to play group matchs with people who play all the time). it depends of the situation, in real life if a guy is well placed no one would shoot him down, people wouldnt know the area like the palm of their hands and not everyone would count with a gps location system like happends in the game

If you get killed sniping its your fault. you shoot then move, staying int he same place is asking for trouble.

Plis what do you expect, if I spot a sniper I am not going t run up to you in full view, I will die. I would go around your side and et out a silenced mp5 or knife and kill you.

Why not use killcam to your advantage? Kill someone, then move to a spot where you can watch where you were before, then as that guy looks for you shoot him. Or just carry around a sub with you.

I like it in the map bog where you can sneak in the grass easily, with UAV jammer and a silencer snipers have no idea where you are in that grass. Once I was sniping and I saw a sniper, so I went right behind and sniped the snipers head from a meter away.

Plus it makes an easy headshot, since you are still. I like standing behind a sniper for a while, then smoking him whilst aiming at his head. Then when they watch the kilcam they will see that I was behind them for ages. Maybe they will learn to check their backs once in a while.

I respect the people that manage to sneak up behind me. Its the people who run straight at you, and know they can out shoot you because they have a machine gun. I mean in real life you wouldn't let yourself get shot just to kill one sniper. Plus I think the kill cam is good and bad. Like if you have an awesome sniper spot, that involves jumping to get too and not many people know about it, then the Kill cam ruins it. But If you sneak up behind someone or something else fun the Kill cam lets them know to have some more brains. This post wasn't meant to bash the people that sneak up on snipers, more the people that take no pain or fear of dying in a game for granted.

Yea...real life. In real life (not like this game) snipers seldom take more than one or two shots from one location. They're always on the move. If you're not any good at it, try a different weapon. Don't cry about it or your mom might take your game away.

I have yet to play COD4 on PS3 but on the other console me and my peeps own. We are the Gods and my other is Registered Sex Offenders, cause we rape. We run around with are M40 using ACOGs, makes it like COD 2 snap shots, we never fully zoom in and we dont camp out wit bullet proof tents and water proof matches. Learn to run around the map with ur rifle also master the no scope and it wont matter what your opponent has because the M40 wit stopping power and steady aim owns. Gods_Blasphemy franky_babylon

You would be easy to take out all it takes is watch what you do and find a place and lay in wait until you run by and deliver a single headshot even with a small caliber side arm would do the job (a silenced weapon would be even better because your buddy would be trying ti figure out where the shot came from while I worked around to another spot he would be running by and do the same thing all over again. In single player games I like to use something like a 9mm with a silencer and a nice single headshot does wonders at close range or a little more.

So close contact gunners can only attack other close contact gunners whereas snipers can attack close contact gunners and other snipers? How is that fair? If your going to snipe people from across the map u better do it well before they get to you.

i can' only remeber ever getting knifed twice while i'm sniping, i use claymores and i pick my spot very carefully.

nothign annoys me more though when people use overkill with a sniper just to get a ghille suit, and then they just run around with an AR :(
