I would do it if my PS3 didn't look like frankenstein lol. My blu-ray drive stays plugged to the mobo thanks in part to electric tape and a cut-out from a cereal box and the shell case is pretty rough, doubt they'd take that working or not.

Thats a pretty good deal. You might be able to get $50 more on craigslist but its alot more work

Well, if your fat PS3 is as loud as mine was, then you would most definitely want to trade it up and that's what I did when the slim was first released.
