the graphics are certainly sumthing to look at.its pretty damnfun.iwas expecting more in terms ofonline since that was whatcaused the original delay, buh i dont mind it. the controls areextremely underrated IMO. itfeels awesome to control the dragonwith the SIXAXIS motion sensing.lets put one rumor to rest tho. they did NOT addanalog stick controls, they are used for controling the camera and are pretty useful as that.I jus love how this game plays. the onli issue i've had with tha conrols is moving it left or rite to whack a dragon, buh its a pretty minimalissue. wont ruin the experience. i dont believe this game deserves a 10 in any way, because i think thevoice acting during in-game cutscenes needed sum work and. buh i dun think that a 6.5 is anywhere near what it is worth. i wud rate it8-9...sumwhere around there. ne questions, just ask

That was kinda hard to read (with your space bar screwed up). Thanks for the input. I will definitely get the game when it gets to the EU.

I believe its worth the buy. form the looks of it the game seems pretty long. cant tell until i beat the game rite? it mite depend on ur taste tho. sum pple dont wish to use SIXAXIS tho i like the way it handles. if ur on the fence about buying it because of the controls, i'll tell u, they're fine. i got used to them in seconds...literally.

I have done the training and the first two missions. I have to agree, I don't understand what the dislike for the controls was during a lot of the reviews. I am going go out on a limb here and say that the people that don't like the controls either are not willing to give them a chance or don't know how to use their hands. They are fluid, simple, and perfectly reactive.

The story is keeping pace so far and the scenery is outstanding. I have a slight issue with the coloring and lighting, it may be my TV, but the first two missions I had a bit of difficulty distinguising things at a distance due to the time of day in the game and the light (or lack there of ) it was shining on everything. The lack of a radar has not been an issue and I have had no problems finding the objectives thanks to the arrow that points you in the direction you need to go.

I enjoy the game so far and do not regret buying it in the least. I would have to say that if I can get about 8 hours of the game before I start working on medals I will be quite happy.

Well from what i'm hearing from you guys that already own the game, that the game is pretty good and deserves a good score to go with it and the controls in your opinions is pretty good and handy. Well here's my question, i've seen all these reviews that the controls have always been a problem, however; from the updates and demos of the game that people from gamestop, 1up, ign etc. were able to participate in have said the controls work fine and are a great addition. Im sure most of you have heard about the EGM reviews of the game where Lair recieved an average score of 6.0 from three reviewers and they hated the controls. I havent seen the actual score myself and just heard about it on both the 1up forums and these forums. So were those scores for real or just a mistake because they havent offically published the review. And you'd think that 3 people reviewing the same game that at least one would like the controls. =/

hhaaha i guess they just dont hve the time to want to play the whole game with the controls as sum levels mite seem lke a stretch, since they believe they are hard-working men....or sumn lke dat...i relli hve no timw too busy playing.

Yeah ebgames/ gamestop has it listed to be on shelves tmrw. I talked to the guy yesterday and he reassured me that 8/31 is their street date and then I proceeded to preorder it when I bought Warhawk. Speaking of Warhawk, I think that will sell big this month, but it may not appear on NPD as the top-selling game because a lot of people may download it although Sony keeps those numbers. I will give you my Lair impressions tmrw if they call me to pick it up. Some people just don't like the sixaxis but I think it is excellent for most games, it just takes a good bit of feel and getting used to. I use it for Motorstorm and Warhawk and it rocks so I don't think that Lair will frustrate me especially if I could handle it in Motorstorm.

Hey guys i dont know if you've seen it or not, but IGN has just rated Lair for themselves and gave the game a 4.9/10!

Heres what the reviewer had to say for his closing comments:

Closing Comments
You might think I'm being too hard on Lair, but if you do, you clearly haven't played this game. Although there are levels where wide-open environments and spread-out objectives trick you into thinking the Sixaxis stuff isn't that bad, whenever a handful of enemies are on screen, your flight space becomes limited or you need to be precise, this game falls apart.

At one point, Lair looked like one of the most promising titles coming to the PS3, but the final version -- even with its interesting story, occasionally impressive graphics and amazing score -- falls well short of anything you should be playing.

from ign and the reviewer is Greg Miller (for the full review u can go to ign).

ya, ign was harsh..... mainly on the auto lock on and the controls it seems. they even take the hit towards the graphics.... :S i dont know, im not paying attention to that review. I like hearing what other gamers think about the game and it seems everybody really likes it. I had no intention of ignoring this game anyways but it seems the reviews are only going to get uglier and xbots are only going to feed on it because the game was hyped so much since day one......ohh well....im still going to play it.

The gameplay in LAIR is supposed to be terrible according to IGN (4.5/10), the guys at 1up.com, and the guys on GameSpot's HotSpot podcast...

And this is the reasons game scores suck. they are just one persons OPINION. My opinion of the game greatly differs from this. I think the game is pretty good, and the controls are pretty good too.
