ive been to gamestop and BB and played it but ive only played motorstorm. its a chocie between racing and basketball demos neither of whoch im into veyr much so its ahrd for me to judgegenfuyungmotorstorm sold it for me when i first played the demo, which is funny, cause the original demo they had in gamestop sucked, but the one you download in the store seemed better for some reason, i guess they updated since then. now i cant wait for the game, supposedly they are coming with a new ratchet and clank and a jak, resistance is a great shooter with amazing weapons, and you will be surprised how well it plays the AI is crazy. but again, gotta buy what you like, if you want a great library right now, its hard to beat the other system, but Sony has never let us down, and the games are starting to come out of the woodwork. M$ has never made quality equipment or software in my opinion, (look at windows) but i played the previous box, and had some fun on it, but always went back to my PS2, so i doubt sony will let us down, europe launch is gonna be basically the time it all starts going and the flood gates open.
seriously the fac thtat ive had 1600 dolars worth of systems from microsoft and none of them have worked the way they should im ready 4 a change. i intended to get a ps3 after a price drop but i may get one sooner nowgenfuyungi think its worth it, cause i use mine plenty, and i have run it for 8 hours straight many a time without so much as a glitch, and the resistance online is flawless even with 40 people, i was impressed. honestly, if you bought it now, with resistance, and got some of the other games after the euro launch, i cant see a way you will be disappointed
what about the lack of rumble? does that bother anyone?genfuyungit seems to bother some, but honestly, i think its pretty much just people picking apart the system cause they are mad about other stuff. i prefer the sixaxis, it has the motion, which has been used in some neat ways already, and i feel they will use the hell out of in a lot of games. rumble wasnt used well in many games except maybe MGS, so i dont miss it a bit, more of a trinket then a need. if you want to see how they use the sixaxis, check out the downloadable game blast factor, they used it in resistance for shaking off enemies, and flOw and super rub a dub both are supposed to use the tilt exclusively, no other controls. so its promising
My 4th 360 just broke thanks to crackdown and im not gonna lie....im fed up. So i see the ps3 has most of the same games minus the achievements (im a whore). So i think to myself maybe its time to toss the 360 and try out the ps3. Anyone have any positive or negatives on the ps3?genfuyungWOW, maybe you're doing something wrong here. I've had my 360 since the launch day and I use it every day for at least 5 hours and have had absolutely no problems so far.

M$ even extended the warranty out cause of so many problems, so its there, your just lucky. car recalls dont affect everyone, but they are done for a reason
what about the lack of rumble? does that bother anyone?genfuyungThat's a fair question. Personally, I don't miss it as much as I had thought I would. I just look at it this way -- my NES doesn't have rumble...nor do my SNES, Genesis, N64 (mostly), Dreamcast, etc. etc. It's just one of those things that's nice, but not necessary.
yaknow im sick of people blaming me. i treat the thing like a damn baby.genfuyungits not your fault, its very common, my brothers friend is on his 2nd or 3rd one now, i dont remember which. they were so quick to release it before sony did, they didnt put the quality there.

might as well
even though its just a rumor now, ms is no doubt working on xbox360 v2 with hdmi and a bigger hd
to me, having bought a 360 already, that is a giant slap in the face. Not just for me but for consumers in general.
I for one am not going to shell out more money on 360v2 which has features the 360 should have had in the first place
agreed, if sony did this, i woudlnt buy from them anymore. M$ should just stick with what they got, and do best with what they got, so they keep from pissing off their fan base, but thats just me. i dont know, i just think sony has always done things better for me, and ive never had any problems with them. they make quality. their only problem was they are always leaps and bounds ahead of everyone, including the developers, so they always have rocky starts. M$ sticks with the tride and true, Sony pushes innovation to the limits at the cost of a rocky start. just their styles i guess.might as well

Absynthetic
You'll definitely like it. I don't know anyone that's had any hardware problems and I game on mine 6+ hours at a time. One of the reasons I liked it better when I bought it is b/c it just seems to run classier than the 360... it's quiet and sleek.
You're choosing a good time to purchase it too. Every month from March on, there are at least a few good games coming out for it every month. You'll still have to wait until around the summertime for some of the most anticipated titles (Lair, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, etc.).... but there will still be enough games to keep you busy until then.
The only weak area Sony has right now is their online service... don't get me wrong, it still does the job just fine. But if you're used to Live it's just not as refined. But when you look at the game library you get with Sony's consoles, you really do get over not having Live... plus, they've already announced that they have some good updates in store for their online service. All in all, my PS3 is my favorite console so far.
The PS3 isn't really rooted well enough to consider buying right now in my opinion. I'm going to wait until some more appealing games come out and the PS3 is more stable.Sir_Sleepsalot
So your buying it at the end of March? lol
anyone use it as a blu ray player?genfuyungI use my PS3 for Blu-Ray movies about 40% of the time. Do you have an HD TV? If you do, then you will no doubt appreciate the picture quality from Blu-Ray movies. Regular DVD's will seem like there is a thin coat of vaseline over the picture once you have watched a few Blu-Ray movies. If you have a stereo receiver and surround sound, even better. I would spring for the PS3 remote control ($25) if you do plan to watch a lot of movies. Since the PS3 uses Bluetooth, it won't work with an infra-red universal remote. Netflix rents Blu-Ray movies so it's very easy to take advantage of the technology. You don't have to go out and build a movie collection or replace your existing collection. Now if the PS3 upscaled DVD's, that would be killer.
