4? Thats a lot. I know people who had problems with their ps2, but not up to the number 4 in just over a year. I'm scared to turn on my 360 now cause I might have to take it back. So far i haven't heard any problems with the PS3. Thank goodness.

MY PS3 works flawlessly. Not one problem whatsoever. At all.

My 4th 360 just broke thanks to crackdown and im not gonna lie....im fed up. So i see the ps3 has most of the same games minus the achievements (im a whore). So i think to myself maybe its time to toss the 360 and try out the ps3. Anyone have any positive or negatives on the ps3?genfuyung
Could people like you stop making threads with the point of them being "Why should I buy a PS3?", I'll tell you why to buy one, because you want one, if you don't want a PS3, don't buy one. We are not your personal Yes men or No men, were not here to convince you to come to our side. We don't think it's all cool that we got another 360 fanboy on our side. Please though don't take this personally, I put this in all threads like this.

My brother had a similar problem like that. He was playing the 360 just fine for 5 months and then he got the recent MS updates and it strated acting wierd. Instead of sending it back, or buying a new one he got rid of the updates and it worked fine again. Though he is scared to update now :)

I went through 3 PS2s and I'm on my 2nd 360. I didn't have to buy anything after the 1st one because I had insurance though. I can't believe you actually bought 4 360s. Even if you didn't 4 is too much. I know if the 360 I have now fails I may be missing out on their upcoming games. I did it with my PS2. After the 3rd one failed I stuck to buying games for my Gamecube & Xbox. I'm waiting now to get a black Wii (pause) and a PS3 when it's worth it.

Online is fine with the PS3. I mean honestly, the purpose of Online is to play online against other people. I think the PS3 achieves that. People just want MORE and that's why they are complaining. Who cares if we get achievement points (it's giving back to the community? Please). It's just a hokey extra included in Live. So the PS3 isn't Live. So what. I want to play online with friends and communicate with them. It allows me to easily.halloweenfan

I'm with you on that one and I agreed even more. I'm very thankful about the online in the PS3 and not even complaining about it.

I own both systems and I must say stick with the 360. My best friend has always been a Sony guy, but he is fed up with the lack of games for the PS3.

anyone use it as a blu ray player?genfuyung

Hell Yeah!!! That's the most awesome function they could have included and I'm so glad they did!!! I don't even buy movies on dvd anymore if I have a choice. Blu ray is 10x better!!! If your t.v. has a decent HD picture, you will really fall in love with blu ray. Blu rays look even better than most of the HD content on HD satellite channels.

On a sidenote, I've seen hd-dvd's that look just as good.... but Microsoft didn't see the obvious advantage of including a next gen format with their next gent console.

I've been my Xbox 360 more, it has a better library of software, but if you can wait for the games, I'd get a PlayStation 3, because I'll be honest I'll be playing my PS3 more than my X360 come later this year.

Welcome to the dark side and the future. I have heard all sorts of crap about the 360 breaking down for people. Now I have had to go through 2 ps2s before my slim version which works like a charm but then again I played those ps2s to death.  So even though I've had ps2 breakdowns Sony and its 3rd party supported just offered the most wellrounded product with the ps2 and are doing the same with the ps3 by offering the best of all worlds: multimedia with a nice size hard drive, gameplay with the industry's best controller, add in blu-ray playback, tilt sensoring and FREE online play and I think you get the best product available for a steal for what you pay for it even if it is $600.

Actually there's more exclusives coming to the PS3 this year than the 360.... and A LOT more to look forward to than just MGS4.

Not to mention that the variety of exclusives is a lot more varied on the PS3. The poster did say they like shooters and the 360 is good for those this year.... But the PS3 has a much wider variety of games coming out this year, including all of the multiplat shooters that are coming to the 360.

I only went through one 360, but I went ahead and exchanged my second one. It has a lot of games right now but just not enough variety for me to buy any of them.... I was doing mostly renting. I'll probably get another one whenever Ninja Gaiden 2 comes out.... that, ME, & Lost Odessey are the only announced games I was looking forward to anyway.

I think the PS3 is certainly worth owning now, but coming from a person who camped at launch for it, I don't know if it was worth it back then. Resistance is great and I play it almost every day, but no console is worth one game. Now however, there's more than one purchase-worthy game. PS3 is definitely worth having now, and if you factor in the fact that 90% of the best games in existence right now are playable via backward compatibility, you'll ALWAYS have something great to play. As far as online play, PSN is naturally not as refined and community feature-heavy as XBL (yet?) but it's still fantastic. If I didn't have a PS3 now, I would certainly get one in the next 2-3 weeks. It would make a nice purchase with God of War II in two weeks :)

it doesnt have quality issues like the other box seems to, nothing common anyway, anything electronic has its problems, but 4? jesus, thats a lot, i wouldnt buy from any company with that kind of fail rate. well, the online is free, its definitely working its way up to great. Sony has a good reputation of making great consoles with amazing games. i love mine, but ive owned all 3 playstations. my suggestion is to go somewhere like gamestop and give it a try, see what you think. the PS3 is really quiet too, mine has run flawlessly and i got in in december (it was one of the launch consoles i got off ebay for a great price) you get access to the PS2 library, most of the games on the other console are coming to ps3, and then some, if your into shooters, you might be disappointed compared to the other console, but Sony always has innovative games on their systems. Gzus666

Ive been through 6 of them lol.....if it wasnt for the games I would of trashed it a while ago:P Anyway I agree the TC should definitely go to EBgames or Gamestop and check one out. Im happy with mine, there are some awesome games coming out later this year and in 2008. Plus Ive never had so much as freeze or a heating issue with the PS3. From launch until now all 6 of my 360s have had freezing and crashing issues. Even the BRAND NEW one MS sent me a few months ago has started freezing.

Sony is known for making an excelent console, just play one first then decide:)

Thats like saying 1 year ago," don't buy a 360 it doesn't have enough games."  Sorta retarded logic when the PS3 after March will have more games then the average player has time to play that has a life.

Very true. I figure, now's the time to jump on to the Sony bandwagon! It's new! It's exciting! Games are coming out! I'd gladly deal with a few growing pains here and there just to be a part of this exciting beginning! (Wow I sound like a rabid freak ;))
