Hello everyone,

This is my first post on these forums so please bare with me. I have had an Xbox 360 now for a year and I love it, but I sort of have two locations I live at and I am thinking about getting a Playstation 3 for the other one (afraid to move the 360 in fear of RRoD). Anyway, I had some questions for those of you that have been using your PS3's for a while now.

1. How is the online service? Are there a good amount of players? How is the community, and how is the lag/connection in general? Do they have dedicated servers or are most of the games host-based?

2. What games would you recommend? I guess I'm mainly looking for exclusives since I have most of the 360/PS3 titles that I would want to play already on the 360. I primarily like action games, first and third-person shooters, and sometimes a good action-rpg (I loved Mass Effect, for example). I also primarily play single-player but really enjoy a good online game (Call of Duty 4 is currently what I'm playing online). I was considering Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Warhawk, Resistance: Fall of Man, Heavenly Sword, and Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. How are those, and are there any others you would recommend? I'm pretty open minded if you think there are some noteworthy non-action games that I should look at.

3. How is the six-axis, is it cool or not so much?

4. Does anyone know where I can find a list of games that work with Backwards Compatibility for the 80GB's software emulation? I heard that it might not support all PS2 games.

I think those are my primary questions for now. Sorry if this is a little long winded. I really appreciate any information anyone is interested in giving me. Otherwise, thanks for reading, take care and Happy Holidays!

The Online service is ok. Well populated. Depends on the game, as far as I know. It's both host and dedicated.

2. What games would you recommend? I guess I'm mainly looking for exclusives since I have most of the 360/PS3 titles that I would want to play already on the 360. I primarily like action games, first and third-person shooters, and sometimes a good action-rpg (I loved Mass Effect, for example). My anwser to that, do some research on the games you're potentially intrested in. Logically I can't reccomend a game cause I personally don't know you.

3. How is the six-axis, is it cool or not so much?

Personally, I find it great for aircraft control. But anything else I don't really use it for as of yet.

4. Does anyone know where I can find a list of games that work with Backwards Compatibility for the 80GB's software emulation? I heard that it might not support all PS2 games.

Usually on the Playstation Underground website or use a search engine

I think those are my primary questions for now. Sorry if this is a little long winded. I really appreciate any information anyone is interested in giving me. Otherwise, thanks for reading, take care and Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the response! I guess I didn't clarify the games part as well as I could have. Those are the games that I have researched and decided look like a lot of fun to me, so I will probably get them. I was looking to see if anyone had any kudos to any of those games listed, and more so if anyone could direct me towards other games worth researching. I never impulse buy so I definitely wouldn't buy a game solely on a recommendation, I'm just new to the idea of the system and looking to find out if there are any gems that may have slipped under my radar that I should research and look into. Thanks again!

As long as you stay away from the 40 gig SKU you will find that there is so many things that the PS3 can be used for along with a gameing system. As for the sixaxis at first it feels to light to really do much but after a while you can see that it really is a very good idea that Sony came up with. The battery life alone is a lot more than you would think it is between recharges.

Look into Ninja Gaiden Sigma unless you allready played black or Gaiden on the original xbox. I have never played Sigma but have played both Black and NG and its one of the greatest games ever add PS3 graphics and im sure you have a winner.

About 3 hours a day of gaming, took me 7 days to finally charge my sixaxis. And it's not even totally out yet. :)

Cool guys thanks for the responses. I played Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox, but I never beat it so that's worth a look, probably at least a rental anyway. I'm aiming for the 80GB. It seems like you really get a lot more for that extra $100.

if u can find a 60 gb i think it has better compatibility. i know 60 gig plays 99.9% or something of all ps2 games. idk about 80 and 40 gb models
