I COMPLETELY agree..there's nothing worth while about the Playstation Move. In fact I think it's a horrible idea to use a wand for shooting games. Who wants to play a shooting game with a wand in both hands?! And the games for it are soooo lackluster I wonder why did Sony even bother wasting resources and time on a soon to fail product![QUOTE="maingon2004"]
I was interested in it last E3, but tonights showing was lame, I am more interested in Natal. the problem with what Sony showed tonight was gameplay experinces we have been able to have on the Wii, the games they showed were very similar. They didnt come out with any thing orginal or something thats only on Sony. Socom seemed to control like any other 3rd person type game on the wii.
engadget, has a video up of them playing it and they said it does have Lag, not as responsive as they were saying, and at times the playstation move had a hard time telling what the player was doing.

I would hope they keep an eye out on more games (exclusive ones)..because the current onslaught of exclusive games are running dry after God of War 3 comes out. The only game that looked like fun was the fighting game they showed..and that's just not good enough. And the Natal seems to take things to a whole new level..especially when you got strong support from people like Peter Molyneux and Steven Spielberg..nice try Sony but I'm just not diggin it!!
This would have completely went to my agreement side if you didn't bring Natal into this. I think both are waiting to be underwhelming. They will have to jump through a lot of hoops before they get me to try this. Waggle has left a really bad impression of motion controls with me. I will need to see glowing reviews, lots of positive forum threads, and lots of games that use motion as more than a gimmick. And I will need to see that happening a year after it releases so that I know that people really think this and aren't just jumping on the bandwagon that always hypes the next new thing.
I think a lot of current PS3 owners will be like me – very cautious due to being burned by past experiences with waggle. So I think Sony will have a real uphill battle with its current customer base. Definitely not a day one buy for me. It might be a year after buy, but I highly doubt it.
Only time will tell...
But I dont like that this is money being flushed into something that ps3 gamers were never asking for. If we wanted motion control, we woulda bought the console that was designed for it. I personally had no issues with the sixaxis. That was a great blend of motion control and normal gaming. I dont see a need for this when this same money could go right back into making more amazing quality ps3 exclusives.
Same with this 3d gaming they keep talking about. It all feels forced and gimmicky. Save it for the arcades boys.

shooting games actually work really good. on wii at least. if youve played metroid prime 3 on wii, it feels very natural and works very well. if sony's will be as good is yet to be seen, however. but dont discount shooters with it.in 3 pages i think i am the only one that says "yes", im going to buy it day 1.
Kandros
Then let me be the 2nd. I'm acting all "maybe" but I know I'll be there like a huge nerd on day 1.
No thanks. I bought a PS3 to play on, not to fling myself around the room with.CraigyM83Check out the demo of someone playing Socom 4, he isn't flinging himself around the room either.

This is true, but at the same time he also looks extremely bored.
I have to see major titles with Move support in order for it to be a success. If Sony is making a push with this product, then there are bound to be great games for it. Finally I may see No More Heroes 3 in HD! Hopefully.

xD Probably because he played the same section of that game over and over and over.If it will has games worth playing (not just this eye pet and this family minigames but real games). And i hope it wont be so expensive and will have some new features that wii doesn't have it.
[QUOTE="ks1990steelman"]Who says you have to stand in front of the tv? You can sit and use the move with your arms. I am to lazy too move my arms, even when I am sitting. And If you play shooters with this it's too tiring to aim with that. After 10 minutes you will want to take a break. It's not in my plans yet and the main reason is that I am to lazy to stand in frond of the TV and move my arms. I prefer to sit on my couch, relax and move only my fingers. But if it's compatible with my games maybe I'll try it in the future.

They should have this bundled with the PS3 to give players the option of using it, if they hope for this to sell well. I prefer the traditional controller instead of motion controls.
Which will increase the price of the bundle by nearly $100.They should have this bundled with the PS3 to give players the option of using it, if they hope for this to sell well. I prefer the traditional controller instead of motion controls.

You appear to have taken it too literally. Maybe. ^_^ However there are games that make you hurl across the room, like tennis. xD
dont really care for motion i play sports so am already active when i play games i just want to chill and sit down
Actually there's some differences between this and the Wii motion controls issue which people keep relating to, this arguement doesn't work for me for several reasons.
One is the hardware capabilities of the PS3 compared to the Wii. A more steady frame rate with actual hd display might make it far more enjoyable to play faster paced games on the PS3. Also, third party support is pretty much already confirmed to be in the works. Nintendo's only big sellers are first party games and their not able to get third party developers to make quality stuff on the system, since Socom 4 will already utilize the Move that only means there are more to follow.
I'm going to get it. $100 for motion controller and a game is a great deal.
Worse comes to worse, its great for parties and playing around with something when you feel like something a little different.
Personally, Motion Fighters and the Gladiator game (as well as Ping Pong in the same package) look really interesting to me. Something I could likely play passively when I'm not gaming hard.
+1 I think Natal has more of a chance than Move, though Natal also faces serious obstacles, particularly fixing its lag problem. No interest whatsoever. The entire reason I bought a PS3 is because I got sick of the Wii's motion controls. Never going back to playing motion control games again. This Move thing has a big failure written all over it as well, unfortunately for Sony. I think Natal has more potential and that since most people seem to already have a Wii, they won't feel the need to get Move.
Vari3ty
No I won't, I already have a Wii so there is literally no point in buying 'Move' and I suspect most Wii owners will be thinking the same unless Sony pull something huge out of the hat and market it like crazy, but this is Sony remember. I personally think this is a waste of money and resources, I don't see it selling volumes or shifting consoles.
Sorry if this has been asked but:
What's up with the coloredballs on top of the controllers? What is the point of the colored balls?
And do they come in all those colors seperately, or do they change color based on controller number?
as a gamer it is stupid to pass on the new experiences i will be having because of the new input method; any game out now that can be done on the move can be done with ds3: so the argument that a game has to force a person to buy it is moot.i want a good rts game that has move functionality.i suppose the z axis movement will be handled in 3d from the controller itself and not an analog stick like on the ds3.i want socom 4 with this.there is really nothing that is bad about this; and the refinement of controlls will be more comforting coming from a skilled ds3 user.i want all the new games that are coming out this fall to add support for this. fallout new vegas and any other game type that is tps or fps.and this could breath new life into the jrpg format with menus having a timer for selection of moves.this device opens what has become a cramped hobby.
the colored balls are used in tandem with the ps eye to detect motion as well as the other motion sensing technologies onboard the move controller. the balls change color according to what the ps eye sees in its background; also they may change color based on gameplay elements. if your walls are painted blue the ball may change color to contrast the blue walls and allow for better detection by the eye. the balls are also used to create a superficial z plane; with the size of the ball being th determinant factor of position in a zplane; like if you move the controller closer or farther away the difference in size can be extrapolated to have different values that when in a game may mean for a fps that you are trying to make a subtle turn left right up or down.
I don't make promises to buy hardware before seeing appealing software. Its not even a valid topic for me until then.beekayjayHave you seen some of the software examples for GDC? check em out
My girlfriend just talked me into getting us a Wii, but honestly I'm more interested in the Move. I disagree with everyone who is saying, "I already have a Wii, don't want this". Go over to the Wii board and look at the improvements all of them are asking for in the next version of the Wii.. HD, DVD and Bluray, and better games. Like others have said, the Wii got whored out.. the only good games for it are first party. If Sony can come through and get the 3rd party support they showed in that demonstration I think this could sway a lot of Wii owners to finally join HD gaming through the PS3.
